⏳ Time doesn’t damage buildings - 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐨.

Behind the surface, this wall told its story: cracked masonry, hard cement repairs trapping moisture, and stone that needed care, not replacement.

So we went back to basics.
Stone and Brick repaired with lime mortar stone repair, not modern shortcuts.

Every repair was done to move naturally with the building, allowing it to breathe, dry out, and last for generations, exactly as it was originally intended.

When Katy reached out, her chimney was crumbling and the old mortar was trapping moisture inside the stone. She wanted it restored properly, not just patched.

That’s where we stepped in.

From clear communication to showing up exactly when promised, we rebuilt the chimney using recycled stone from the site and breathable lime mortar to protect the home for years to come.

🔥 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! 🔥

This chimney was in poor condition with crumbling stonework, cracked mortar, and deteriorated flaunching that had all seen better days.

Our team completed a full chimney restoration, which included:
🧱 Rebuilding damaged stone sections
🧹 Repointing with traditional lime mortar to allow the structure to breathe naturally
💧 Installing a new watertight lime flaunching
🏺 And finishing the job with a new chimney pot, giving it both function and character.

What a transformation! This stunning stonework was hidden behind 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, which had trapped moisture and caused damp inside the property.

We removed the harsh cement and 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐫 allowing the building to breathe again, stopping the damp, and restoring its original charm.

Here’s a striking before-and-after of our recent lime pointing work on 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐈𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 in Huddersfield.

In the 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 photo, you can clearly see how concrete pointing had been used previously, a common but damaging choice for older stone buildings. It traps moisture, causes long-term deterioration, and simply doesn’t suit the aesthetic of traditional stonework.

Our team carefully removed the inappropriate mortar and applied 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, restoring the natural beauty of the stone while allowing the building to breathe, just as it was originally intended.
