With the successful completion of the Artemis II mission, we reflect back on a project we were involved in installing, the largest vessel in the UK to test spacecraft readiness at RAL Space.

This thermal chamber weighs 98 tonne, and measures in at 16m by 8m.

It was used to check the readiness of spacecraft for flight by putting them in a vacuum and at temperatures that range from -180C to +100C. Interesting stuff!

It involved a full contract lift at The National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF), using our Terex 5600 on full ballast working with our Grove GMK4100 as a tailing crane.

It's one of those unique projects that we are proud to have been part of.

A perfect example of Lift & Shift in action.

On site in Peterborough last week, our MK88 lifted M&E equipment onto a scaffold platform, ready for our team to manoeuvre it into position inside the plant room.

More than just the lift, it’s also about shifting everything exactly where it needs to be.

Good job all round from the team, customer is happy and the next job is booked in for the buffer vessel install.

We were proud to support the Cresswellshawe Road CSO Upgrade, alongside Forkers Ltd, for the United Utilities Better Rivers programme.

Our crane was on site lifting a 120,000‑litre detention tank weighing in at 5200kg. Using our LTM1060 working at 12m radius with a Mod24 lifting beam

ABA Cranes took delivery of this stunning Liebherr LTM1040 last year - first voyage out on May 8th 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.
