Congratulations to Freddie Ellis Gilbert, aged 8, who was chosen as the winner of our Stevenage Shopping Centre Design a Robot competition! 🤖🏆

Freddie’s fantastic robot design impressed our judges, and a family ticket to this weekend’s Extreme Robots show is on its way to him.

Thank you to everyone who entered – we loved seeing all of your amazing robot creations. Keep designing, and who knows, you might be building the next champion robot! ⚙️🤖

Robots can be funny things, 2 robots with the same fault in the space of 2 days, All sorted now though, that’s why you need a good supply of spares. Especially when you’re running 13 Heavyweights at an event at one go. Whose idea was that ? 🙈🙈🙈

Ripper 8, all ready for Stevenage. The smallest thing can cause a robot to fail and lose a fight. Found the slightest gas leak from one of the valves — common to see tiny cracks forming over time. Replaced it, pressure tested it, and now we’re ready to rock 🤘🤖
