Office Administrator – Construction Industry

Location: Wedmore
Salary: Competitive
Hours: up to 35 hours per week (Monday–Friday)(hours and working days negotiable)

About Us

Seymour Construction are a busy and growing construction company looking for a reliable and organised Office Administrator to support our day-to-day operations. The role is key to keeping the office running smoothly and ensuring jobs, paperwork and invoices are managed accurately.

The Role

This is a varied position supporting the office with invoicing, accounts administration and job paperwork. You will be working closely with the management team to keep records organised and up to date.

Key Responsibilities
• Entering and checking supplier invoices in accounting software
• Recording delivery tickets and job paperwork
• Collecting and recording staff hours and timesheets
• Assisting with payroll preparation
• Filing and organising job records
• Answering and directing incoming calls
• General office administration and support

What We’re Looking For
• Previous office administration experience
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Confident using computers and office software
• Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar is beneficial
• Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks
• A professional and friendly phone manner

Potential to work around school holidays but we would not be able to commit to full school holiday rotation.

The primary role will be based in Long Ashton (near Bristol), working on a major development delivering a state-of-the-art campus for a global leader in medical software. Additional sites will be operating across Somerset, and candidates must be willing to work on different sites as required.

About You
We are looking for reliable, competent individuals who take pride in their work. We operate to a very high standard and expect every team member to give maximum effort on every job. In return, you will become part of a motivated, close-knit team where your contribution is genuinely valued.

We have long-term contracts across multiple sites, so applicants seeking stable, ongoing work will be preferred.

Employment options: PAYE or CIS (self-employed)

Requirements

-Valid NPORS and CSCS tickets
-Full driving licence
-Ability to travel to site or our yard in Wedmore (BS28)
-Strong work ethic and positive attitude
-Presentable and professional appearance
-Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks running simultaneously
-Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
-Good mechanical knowledge of machines being operated
-Availability to work a minimum of 5 days per week
-Excellent timekeeping
- Able to work without being distracted by mobile phone use
-Be able to work 10 hours in a day
