Melksham Renovation Update

We are making good progress on site.

The first-fix plumbing and electrical works are being installed today, and all internal studwork has now been completed. The team has been working hard to keep the project moving forward and everything is progressing as planned.

Next week, we will begin boarding out the walls and ceilings in preparation for plastering. Once this stage is complete, we will be ready to move on to the finishing phases of the renovation.

End of Week Update
JCS Carpentry & Construction

As another busy week comes to a close, we're proud to reflect on the progress made across multiple projects. The team has worked exceptionally hard, maintaining high standards while managing a growing workload and delivering quality results for our clients.

🏡 Devizes – Both properties are now substantially complete, with only the installation of the rainwater goods remaining, scheduled for this week.

🏡 Melksham – 60m² of patio installation completed, creating a fantastic outdoor space for our client to enjoy.

🏡 Trowbridge – Media wall installation completed and final finishing touches being carried out on our latest kitchen project.

🚧 We're also excited to have started new projects in both Melksham and Bristol, keeping the momentum going as we continue to expand.

And that’s a wrap — Mere completed ✔️

A full six-week turnaround to deliver this stunning porch addition to a bungalow, adding both character and extra space to the property.

Finished with a beautiful sky blue render that really makes the build stand out, this 2m x 1.5m extension has completely transformed the front of the home. Fully signed off by Building Control and completed to a high standard throughout.

Big thanks to all the trades involved for helping bring this one over the finish line smoothly and professionally. Projects like these are what we enjoy most — quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and great teamwork from start to finish.

We’re continuing to push forward with high standards, high-quality work, and a reputation built on delivering results our clients are proud of.

Jesus was a carpenter and we’re not far away. He walked on water… and we worked on water. 🌊

Delivering this unique project on a bespoke barge has definitely tested us in all the right ways. From the custom-built bed to the solid oak flooring throughout, every part of this one needed precision, patience and plenty of problem solving.

Not a single moment on this project passed where we thought “you could swing a cat in here” — space was tight from start to finish — but the lads have been exceptional throughout and proved once again that no matter the task, we get it done.

Massive thank you to the client for trusting us with such a different and rewarding build. Safe to say he can now turn his barge back into a proper home.

Project Market Lavington complete. ✅

What a pleasure this project has been from start to finish. Transforming what was once a run-down driveway into a beautiful, timeless entrance has been incredibly rewarding. Featuring oak sleepers, solid oak porch posts, and copper porcelain slabs, every detail was chosen to create a high-end finish that will stand the test of time.

All topped off with a stunning decorative stone that perfectly complements the entire project and ties everything together.

At JCS Carpentry & Construction, we strive for perfection on every single project we take on, no matter the size. Quality, detail, and pride in our work remain at the centre of everything we do.

Busiest week yet, but once again the lads have worked effortlessly through it all. No matter the pressure, timelines, or long days, we always push through and get it done. 💪

🔨 Two-storey project in Devizes signed off
🏠 Second Devizes two-storey extension ready to be roofed in and watertight Monday, ready for knock-through works
🚪 Garage conversion started in Trowbridge
🧱 Garage conversion in Melksham progressing well
🪨 Market Lavington nearly complete and ready for decorative gravel
🛥 Canal boat fit-out completed apart from flooring due Monday
🎨 Mere project ready for paint and top coat of render
🚜 Driveway in Edington coming along nicely

And on top of all that, we’ve secured another new project in Frome, alongside three kitchen renovations starting this coming month. 📈

Another productive week for the team:

• Oak sleeper retaining wall completed in Market Lavington

• Fire boarding completed in Mere – ready for pre plastering inspection on Monday
