Keeping the VMC busy this morning! 👌

Our XYZ Machine Tools Ltd VMC 600/22 is working on another small batch, providing the accuracy and repeatability needed for precision 3-axis milling.

It's one of several machining centres keeping our milling section moving, with the flexibility to switch between one-offs, prototypes and repeat batch work as production demands.

Another batch off the lathe, and it's always satisfying seeing turned components come off the machine looking like this.

It's a good example of what our CNC turning department is set up to handle. Continued investment in our machinery and technology gives us the capability to support:

• Prototype turned parts
• Volume production
• Short lead times
• A wide range of material grades

Think Bridweystopped over the bank holiday? Think again! 👀

While the team enjoyed a well-earned break, our palletised EROWA Technology Poland robot loader was busy feeding components into our Hedelius Maschinenfabrik 5-Axis ACURA, allowing machining to continue unattended over the long weekend.

That means more machining hours, greater capacity and valuable production time gained while the factory is unmanned.

The team might have clocked off, but thanks to automation like this, and our new Tuscan cell, the machines didn't have to. 👌

From a shed in Weymouth to supporting diverse industries around the world. 👍

Our story started in 1983, when two engineers left the local Vickers torpedo plant and set up Bridwey in a shed on the Granby Industrial Estate.

Tooling and small parts for local businesses soon turned into larger contracts, a 3,000 sqft unit and then a 6,000 sqft facility. And those relationships lasted too - three of our original customers remain key clients today.

More than four decades later, the machines and technology may have changed considerably, but precision manufacturing is still very much in our DNA.

When you're machining for such a diverse range of industries, the material suited to an aerospace component could be completely different to one destined for marine, medical or motorsport use.

This batch is on the Baty CMM, verifying critical dimensions and tolerances before the components move on to the next stage.

Working to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards means inspection and traceability are part of the job throughout production, making sure what leaves our shop floor matches the drawing. 👌
