Not every Sycamore workshop project is typical process engineering

These latest skids build on our long-standing relationship with the RNLI, for whom we’ve now manufactured over 10 of these units. We’re proud to continue that relationship, putting our workshop’s capabilities to use in support of an organisation dedicated to saving lives at sea. 👏

Our team has been busy manufacturing two bespoke 9 kW Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) skids for the RNLI, putting our engineering and manufacturing capabilities to use on something a little different from our usual projects.

Bringing together our team’s expertise, the project has involved manufacturing stainless-steel frames and drip trays and installing copper pipework, expansion vessels, heat pumps, cabling and associated components.

Projects like this demonstrate the versatility of our workshop, bringing established engineering expertise to applications beyond our core process engineering sectors.

Next Wednesday, 4th November, Team Sycamore will join industry colleagues at the BFBi Midland Section Annual Lunch at the Indian Brewery Company in Birmingham. On Thursday, 5th November, we’re delighted to sponsor the SDT Autumn Conference at Campden BRI in Chipping Campden.

Paul Manning and Jake Handley will attend the BFBi lunch on behalf of Sycamore, catching up with colleagues across the Brewing, Food and Beverage supply chain, discussing producers’ evolving needs and how our process engineering expertise can support expansion and efficiency.

Exhibiting with Alfa Laval as their UK and Ireland Master Integrator, alongside IFM, we showcased the Alfa Laval EnSaLine agitator and our live CIP demonstration, highlighting hygienic design, easier maintenance, efficient cleaning and reduced downtime.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the show possible, from our workshop and manufacturing teams to those who transported and built the stand, and represented Sycamore at the event. Your hard work and teamwork made it happen.

We were also proud to welcome several apprentices, including Sam Larkins and Hollie Bealing, who were shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year at the Automate Awards. Congratulations to Sam on winning and Hollie on being Highly Recommended!

This week, Sycamore is heading to two of the industry’s leading events: the PPMA Show 2026 at the NEC in Birmingham and the International Whey Conference in Chicago.

The Sycamore team will attend the PPMA Show 2026 at the NEC in Birmingham, where visitors to stand E70 can see two innovative solutions in action: our CIP system and the Alfa Laval EnSaLine Agitator. As an Alfa Laval Master Integrator, we combine Sycamore’s process engineering expertise with market-leading hygienic processing technology to deliver fully integrated, efficient and reliable solutions that help customers optimise production and achieve long-term performance.

Sycamore’s Membrane Specialist, Sabrina Pearson, will attend the International Whey Conference (IWC) in Chicago from 20th–23rd September, alongside Gerbrand Siegersma from our partner, Wafilin Systems. Working closely with Wafilin Systems enables us to bring specialist membrane filtration knowledge into every stage of a project. This collaborative approach helps customers overcome processing challenges and unlock greater efficiency, quality and value.

We’re looking forward to connecting with customers, partners and industry professionals, exploring the latest innovations and discussing how smarter process engineering can help deliver efficient, reliable and sustainable production.
