Acrylic is the material. Perspex and PLEXIGLAS® are brand names for the same thing — like Hoover for a vacuum cleaner or Velcro for hook-and-loop fastening.

So when someone asks for "a sheet of Perspex" or "a piece of Plexiglas", they're asking for acrylic sheet. Same product, different names.
