As part of the Construction Industry Federation's Safety Week 2026, our supervisory team our Galway Clinic Project held a toolbox talk yesterday, focusing on this year's campaign theme: Back to Basics.

The session provided an opportunity to reinforce the importance of getting the fundamentals right, maintaining awareness of potential risks and ensuring that safe working practices remain central to everything we do on site.

Regular engagement, open communication and a shared commitment to safety all play an important role in maintaining safe working environments.

Identifying and managing risks before work even begins is fundamental to maintaining safe working environments, especially in Construction.

Toolbox talks, Risk Assessments, site inductions and regular site inspections form an important starting point of our approach to health and safety, helping to ensure that potential hazards are identified, risks are understood and appropriate measures are in place.

It is critical to get the basics right, every day.

We were delighted to attend the launch of Tonnta – Galway’s Bilingual Festival, which will return to Galway this coming January.

Our Team met with the organisers of the festival and heard more about the exciting plans for the programme. We are proud to support an initiative that celebrates the Irish language, bilingual culture and Galway's vibrant arts and cultural scene.

We look forward to seeing the festival come to life in January and wish everyone involved the very best with the preparations!

Health & Wellbeing – Safety includes looking after people

Health and safety in construction extends beyond physical safety. It is important to foster a culture where people feel supported, comfortable speaking up and able to look out for one another.

We strive to recognise the importance of keeping the conversation around mental health going, including through our participation in initiatives such as Men's Mental Health Day.

Looking after each other is part of looking after our workforce.

We’re delighted to be supporting the Institute’s Race in Pink at the Galway Races October Festival on Sunday, 25th October.

The event brings people together for a day of racing, hospitality and entertainment, while raising funds for an important cause. We will be joining others in supporting this important fundraising event.
