We are proud to see our CEO, Helga Dögg Flosadóttir on the list of most influential women in global agri-food tech, curated by and Antonio Iannone.
Thank you Antonio for highlighting the role of women in the Agri-Tech Revolution.
When I read through this list, I’m reminded of how much strength, creativity, and resilience this sector holds. Women are building tools that help farmers adapt to climate change. They’re designing platforms that give rural communities access to markets.
They’re leading research that protects our soils, seeds, and ecosystems.
The future of agri‑tech depends on empowering these voices — investing in them, mentoring them, and ensuring they’re shaping decisions at every level.
Here’s to the women transforming agriculture from the ground up.

A shoutout to the women changing the food system. Because it won’t change itself.

Title: "Low-emission ammonia production and utilization"

Abstract:
Low-emission ammonia production and utilization is moving toward implementation. Numerous renewable ammonia projects are already operational in China, with additional capacity under construction in India and Saudi Arabia. Also, gas-based ammonia capacity with CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) is already operational in the United States, with additional capacity under construction. Meanwhile, ammonia has been validated as a fuel in maritime engines, with large ammonia-fueled vessels hitting the waters later this year. Also, the first ammonia cracking pilot is operational in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Ammonia has also been demonstrated for co-firing with coal for electricity generation, with commercial operation toward 2030. Meanwhile, ammonia is also considered for heat applications. This builds on an existing ammonia infrastructure, with ammonia terminals in nearly all industrial ports. Lastly, an outlook is provided on the scale-up requirement for ammonia production in case of a decarbonized future.

We are honored to be the recipients of an EIC Transition grant. Our project Electrocatalytic Ammonia SYnthesis, EASY, is the next step following our previous Horizon Europe project VERGE (Versatile and direct E-fuel and feRtilizer Generation from renewable Electricity), building on its breakthroughs and maturing its technology. With an excellent consortium including EcoVibes, VITO, TEGA and Agriculture University of Iceland we look forward to the next three years!

The EASY project is revolutionizing ammonia production by advancing the Atmonia process from lab concept to practical application. Unlike the traditional, carbon-heavy Haber-Bosch method, EASY uses a sustainable approach to create ammonia from air and water, effectively harnessing renewable energy without the need for high pressure or temperature. This new method sets a standard for safe and decentralized ammonia production, tailored for intermittent energy sources. By the project's end, EASY aims to deliver an operating prototype ready for scaleup and demonstrated on farm, a market confirmed business-plan and a clear permit pathway for fertilizer and e-Fuel production from N2.
