Sweater weather is officially here, and it is time to trade the sundresses for knits and the iced matchas for something warm.

We would never dream of walking out into a November chill in a linen sundress, so why on earth do we expect our bodies to handle a watermelon in November?

There is a brilliant logic to how nature works. The earth gives us exactly what our physiology craves, precisely when we need it.

Living in Tuscany makes this super easy—walk into the market now, and you are met with what is actually in season. But when I was visiting Los Angeles recently, it hit me all over again: you can find mangoes, papayas, watermelons, mushrooms, and artichokes sitting side-by-side. Everything is in season. No, nothing really.
Nothing is actually in season; it is just flown in from God knows where.

If you are stateside, it takes a little extra mindfulness to look past the global produce aisle and ask: what is the season actually asking of my plate right now?

Just like we are ditching summer clothes, it is time to say a temporary goodbye to smoothies & iced lattes. Your digestion will thank you for warming things up as the weather cools down.

How are you shifting your grocery shopping as the seasons change?

I often get asked what I’m studying and practice…

At its heart, my work bridges the best of modern integrative medicine with the time-tested wisdom of Ayurveda.

Integrative medicine uses evidence-based therapies to support your whole health, while Ayurveda offers a personalized framework—focusing on tailored nutrition, daily rhythms, and natural remedies tailored to your unique mind-body balance.
Together, they look beyond quick fixes to address root causes, helping you cultivate sustainable, everyday well-being.

We often think of the heart as just a mechanical pump, but in Ayurveda, it’s truly the center of your whole being and the seat of the soul.
Beneath all our daily thoughts and actions, that quiet core essence lives right in the heart—it’s where our deepest reservoir of resilience, immunity, inner bliss, and life force reside, and where physical health meets spiritual awareness.
It’s also where we digest our emotions; while the brain handles intellect, the heart holds emotional intelligence, love, and joy. When the heart is in balance, it brings clarity, self-worth, and deep emotional peace as we continuously receive, give, and circulate life.
Caring for it goes way beyond just cardio—it means letting the mind settle back into the heart space through meditation, giving yourself room to process your feelings, and surrounding yourself with supportive relationships and environments.

If you’re ready to bring more balance to your heart and overall well-being, send me a message to book an Ayurvedic wellness consultation.

A warm, grounding ritual for quiet moments.

This traditional spiced chai awakens the senses and nourishes from the inside out. Save this post for your next slow morning!

Spiced Indian Chai Tea (Serves 4)
Ingredients:
• 4 cups water
• ¾ cup milk
• 2-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
• ½ tsp cardamom powder
• ¼ tsp black peppercorns
• 2 tbsp loose Indian black tea
• Honey or sugar, to taste
Instructions:
* Bring water and milk to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
* Add cardamom, black pepper, and grated ginger; simmer briefly to infuse.
* Add tea leaves, turn off heat, cover, and steep for 2 minutes.
* Strain into mugs, sweeten to taste, and sip slowly.

Warming spices like ginger, cardamom, and black pepper naturally support agni (digestive fire) and circulation.

As the air turns crisp and the world grows quieter, there is something beautiful about wrapping yourself in warmth and turning inward.

My Meditation Shawls are handwoven in Nepal from 90% fine merino wool and 10% cashmere — soft, nurturing layers to accompany you through moments of stillness, reflection, and presence.

Drape one over your shoulders as you settle into meditation, carry it outdoors for a quiet moment beneath the autumn trees, or wrap yourself in its gentle warmth as the morning unfolds.

More than a shawl, it is an invitation to slow down. To breathe deeply. To create a little sanctuary wherever you are.

Warmth for the body. Stillness for the mind. Space for the soul. 🤍

At its heart, Sukkot is basically an excuse to build a leafy backyard fort, hang out under the stars, and eat good food with whoever walks through the door.

The coolest part? One of the main traditions involves holding four wildly different plants together—from a sweet-smelling citrus fruit to a plain old willow branch.

The rule is that you need all four to complete the set. It’s a fun, gentle reminder that true community isn’t about everyone being copy-pastes of each other; it’s about bringing all our weird, wonderful, different flavors to the table and realizing the vibe is way better when everybody’s included.

If you’re anything like me and struggle with the bitter taste of Ayurvedic herbs, I’ve got a solution for you!

I prefer taking churnas (herbal powders) over capsules because they’re much more potent, but the taste can definitely be off-putting. While honey is a common carrier, it isn’t always the right fit—and unlike honey, which shouldn’t be heated because it creates ama (toxins).

My go-to is date syrup.

In my Middle Eastern culture, date syrup is a staple natural sweetener. But from an Ayurvedic perspective, it’s also the ultimate carrier: it’s cooling, deeply nourishing, balancing for Vata, and completely masks those harsh bitter and astringent flavors.

Mix your daily herbs with a spoon of date syrup—or stir it into a warm drink—and turn your herbal routine into a treat. 🍯🌿

An Ayurvedic twist on a Rosh Hashana tradition: a moist date syrup cake instead of honey.
Sweet, nourishing, and made with intention.
Wishing you all a happy and sweet new year.
