🇮🇹Nuovo articolo sulla rivista internazionale Environmental Biology of Fishes, Springer Nature!!! Stay tuned!!! Trovate l'articolo ai link qui sotto: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10641-026-01875-z

🇬🇧New paper on the international jurnal Environmental Biology of Fishes, Springer Nature!!!! This time we are talking about EELS and karst systems!!! A beautiful preliminary study carried out together with our friends of Cesbin and Arpal, which began after two observations of Anguilla anguilla in the non-tourist section of the Borgio Cave. These observations raised interesting questions about the species’ phenology and its possible behaviors in karst environments, especially in areas close to the coast. 🏖This preliminary work confirms the presence of eels in the drainage basins of the karst system in which the cave develops, including stream sections characterized by temporary surface flows, as well as possible subsurface flows within the riverbed.🌊 Future research will include in-depth studies aimed at understanding whether caves may represent: a transit route, either from the sea moving inland or from adjacent watercourses flowing through karst connections; or even an area of trophic interest and growth for the species.💧 A great thanks to the cave managers! Stay tuned!!! You can find the article at the above links.
