The golden rule of Mt. Fuji? Pack for summer, prepare for winter. 🏔️🌧️

Even in July and August, summit temperatures can plunge below freezing, and sudden alpine downpours are incredibly common.

If you get wet at 3,000 meters, game over. Your cotton hoodie or umbrella won’t save you.

That’s why we equip our guests with professional-grade, high-performance rain jackets.

Why our gear matters:
✔️ Advanced Waterproofing: Heavy rain beads right off the fabric, keeping external moisture out.
✔️ Windproof Shield: Traps vital body heat when layered over an insulating fleece.
✔️ Zero Luggage Hassle: High-end technical gear, waiting for you in Japan. No packing heavy, wet jackets into your suitcase after the climb.

Stay warm. Stay dry. Focus on the summit views, not the weather.

Most people who climb Mt. Fuji default to the Yoshida Trail. The result? Standing shoulder-to-shoulder in a slow-moving line of thousands of hikers.

We do things differently. Our team favors the Subashiri Trail. It’s quieter, greener, and offers an entirely different look at Japan’s iconic peak.

Here is the breakdown of the route we map out for our guests:

The Forest Canopy (2,000m): You start in a lush, shaded moss forest. It keeps you cool and allows your body to naturally acclimate to the altitude change away from the crowds.

Breaking the Treeline (3,000m): The canopy suddenly vanishes, opening up to a dramatic, otherworldly volcanic landscape. You are officially walking above the cloud line.

The Alpine Mountain Hut (3,100m+): A warm bed, a hot bowl of Japanese curry, and a chance to rest before the midnight push. This is where the true mountain camaraderie happens.

The Summit Crater (3,776m): Standing on the true crater rim at dawn. Watching the sunrise (Goraiko) break over the Pacific Ocean is a moment you’ll never forget.

🚀 BONUS: The descent down Subashiri features the "Sunabashiri"—a massive field of loose volcanic sand that allows you to safely slide down the mountain in a fraction of the time.

Spaces for our peak Summer 2026 technical climbs and private guided groups are filling fast.

The descent down the Subashiri Trail means tackling the infamous Sunabashiri—a massive, knee-deep slope of volcanic gravel and ash. It feels like sprinting in deep snow, but with rocks.
Want to glide down like a pro instead of tumbling face-first? Save these 6 insider rules for your summer summit.

🎒 Don't Own the Right Gear? Rent It!
You don't need to drop hundreds of dollars buying heavy trekking boots, technical rain layers, or gaiters just for this trip. We offer premium, high-quality gear rentals tailored specifically for Mt. Fuji's harsh conditions. Heavy-duty boots, dust-defying gaiters, and sturdy trekking poles are all available to add to your booking so you can show up stress-free.

What actually happens on Day 2 of the Sunrise Summit Tour? Here is the schedule: 👇
⏰ The Night Climb: Wake up before dawn for a 1.5-hour push to the summit. We climb in the dark using headlamps.
🌅 The Summit: Reach the highest peak in Japan (3,776m) to watch the sunrise above the clouds.
🌋 Crater & Breakfast: Time is allotted for a hot breakfast, buying souvenirs, taking photos, and an optional hike around the volcanic crater.
