Drainage & Sewer Pipe Slope Guide | Proper Installation for Smooth Flow

Proper slope in drainage and sewer pipes is very important to ensure smooth wastewater flow and prevent pipe blockages. If the pipe slope is too flat, waste will not flow properly. If it is too steep, water flows faster than solids and causes clogging.

Recommended Pipe Slopes

• 63mm pipe → 1 : 50
• 75mm pipe → 1 : 60
• 90mm pipe → 1 : 75
• 110mm pipe → 1 : 80
• 160mm pipe → 1 : 120

📌 Example:
If the pipe slope is 1 : 50, for 1 meter pipe length the drop should be 20 mm.

📌 Sewer lines between two manholes should be straight and the distance between them should not exceed 25 meters.

🔧 Proper slope = Long-lasting drainage system.

Column reinforcement කියන්නේ ගොඩනැගිල්ලේ මූලික ශක්ති කොටසක්.
ඒ නිසා stirrups, lap joints වැරදි නම් column failure වීමටත් ඉඩ තියෙනවා.

🔹 1️⃣ Stirrups දාගන්න නිවැරදි ක්‍රමය
✔️ Stirrups මරැවෙන් මරැවට joint එකපෙලට නොවැටෙන ලෙස
✔️ Closed stirrups + 135° hooks
→ Hooks inward (column ඇතුළට) යොමු විය යුතුයි
→ Tie wire loose නොවී හොඳින් බඳින්න
❌ Open rings (❌)
❌ Hook 90° (❌)
❌ එකම side එකට stirrup joints (❌)

🔹 2️⃣ Lap Length – Column Main Bars
✔️ Lap Length = 50D (Diameter × 50) (Commonly used value)
උදාහරණයක් ලෙස 👉
• 12mm bar → 600mm lap
• 16mm bar → 800mm lap
✔️ Lap joints එකම level එකට නොගෙන
→ Alternate bars වල lap level වෙනස් කරන්න
