Doric Studio is proud to see another park designed by the studio open to the community.
Ġnien it-Tbissim, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq Family Park
This open space offers a different experience from the parks many of us are used to in Malta. Nature and trees shape the design, with stone paving and wooden mulch that provides a safer play surface while helping to retain moisture in the soil. A large reservoir supports the landscape, while new toilets and smart, energy-conscious lighting make the park more welcoming and usable.
Natural robinia timber features throughout the play areas, bringing warmth and a closer connection to the landscape. The play equipment challenges children to test their balance, explore heights and build confidence.
Designed for people of all ages, the park brings together places to play, pause, meet and spend time outdoors. It gives new purpose to a place that had long been overlooked.
For us, architecture begins with people. It asks why we use a place, what draws us to it and how thoughtful design can make us want to return. We hope this park becomes a valued part of everyday life in the community.
