Our electricity services are licensed, authorised and regulated by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services. Our services are also primarily governed by the Enemalta (Transfer of Assets, Rights, Liabilities and Obligations) Act (CAP 536), the Electricity Supply Regulations (S.L. 545.01), the Electricity Market Regulations (S.L.545.13), the Network Code and any other applicable legislation. Electrical installations in Malta and Gozo are also regulated by the Electrical Installation Regulations (S.L. 545.24). Enemalta is currently addressing two cable faults in Żabbar.

Earlier today, a cable was damaged by a third-party contractor. Enemalta’s technical teams intervened and restored electricity supply following the incident.

This afternoon, a second cable fault occurred in the area. The cause of this fault is yet to be identified. As a result, a number substations are currently isolated.

Our engineers are on site carrying out the necessary emergency repairs, while temporary generators are being deployed to the affected areas till repairs are underway.

🇬🇧⚡ Network reinforcement works in St Paul’s Bay

From Monday, 2 November, Enemalta will start works in Triq San Pawl to lay around 7️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ metres of new cables, further strengthening the electricity network.

🚌 Temporary shuttle services:

➡️ Geraldu (Triq San Pawl) – Għasfur (Salini) – Burmarrad (Triq Burmarrad)
➡️ Pawlu (Triq San Pawl) – Xemxija

⏱️ Every 15 mins | 05:25–20:00
⏱️ Every 20 mins | 20:00–23:10

Motorists and commuters are encouraged to follow the temporary arrangements in place.

Enemalta qed twettaq tiswijiet ta’ emerġenza fuq cable tal-medium voltage li ġarrab ħsara minn kuntrattur terz. Il-provvista tal-elettriku lill-klijenti milquta diġà ġiet restawrata.

🚧 Minħabba dawn ix-xogħlijiet, l-aċċess fi Triq San Ġorġ, fid-direzzjoni mill-Għassa tal-Pulizija lejn Paceville, se jkun ristrett.

Id-direzzjoni minn Paceville lejn ir-roundabout tal-LOVE se tibqa’ miftuħa għat-traffiku.

Is-sewwieqa huma mħeġġa jsegwu l-arranġamenti temporanji tat-traffiku u d-direzzjonijiet fuq il-post.

⚠️ EMERGENCY WORKS – TRIQ SAN ĠORĠ

Enemalta is carrying out emergency repairs to a medium-voltage cable damaged by a third-party contractor.

Electricity supply to the affected customers has already been restored.

🚧 Due to these works, access along Triq San Ġorġ, in the direction from the Police Station towards Paceville, will be restricted.

The direction from Paceville towards the LOVE roundabout will remain open.

Motorists are urged to follow the temporary traffic arrangements and directions on site.

🚧 During these works, Triq il-Ħwawar will be closed to traffic to and from Triq tal-Balal.

🇲🇹F’Ħal Għargħur, ix-xogħlijiet biex jitpoġġew madwar 4️⃣.5️⃣ kilometri ta’ cables ġodda taħt l-art issa qed jidħlu fl-aħħar stadju tagħhom.

Fil-jiem li ġejjin se jibdew ix-xogħlijiet fi Triq Karmnu Zarb, bħala parti mill-aħħar fażi ta’ dan il-proġett.

Nirringrazzjaw lir-residenti u lill-Kunsill Lokali għall-kooperazzjoni waqt li jitwettqu dawn ix-xogħlijiet essenzjali.

🇬🇧 In Għargħur, works to lay around 4️⃣.5️⃣ kilometres of new underground cables are now entering their final stage.

In the coming days, works will begin in Triq Karmnu Zarb as part of the final phase of this project.

🇬🇧Today, Enemalta inaugurated three major infrastructure projects in Naxxar, Siġġiewi and Msida, representing an investment of around €40 million in Malta’s electricity distribution network.

These projects provide greater capacity and flexibility, strengthening the network to meet Malta’s present and future electricity needs.

A special thank you to all Enemalta employees, contractors and everyone involved for the hard work, dedication and commitment that made these important projects a reality.

Enemalta strengthening electricity infrastructure at Mater Dei Hospital ⚡

Enemalta is taking another step towards strengthening Malta’s electricity infrastructure, with a new distribution centre planned at Mater Dei Hospital.

The investment will strengthen security of supply, increase capacity and support the hospital’s future expansion, as Enemalta continues modernising Malta’s electricity network.
