🎹 NEW PIANO vs OLD PIANO

We often get asked this question quite often:

New piano or use piano better?
What is the difference?

Let see what Henry Chan said:
Is an old car better? Unless we don't go to highway, don't go to racing track.

Newer pianos are more suitable. Performance are extremely important.
If you truly enjoy playing, or if your child is a serious learner or serious player, then you need to pay close attention to the piano’s performance, condition, and wear & tear.

With an older piano, you may experience:

🔸 A sound that has become too bright or harsh
🔸 Loose or inconsistent touch
🔸 Worn action parts
🔸 Aging hammers, strings, pins and other components
🔸 Less stability and consistency in performance

And here’s something many people may not realize:

A large portion of the used pianos in today’s market are already 40, 50, or even 60 years old.

Some people say, “No problem — just refurbish it.”

But refurbishment does not automatically make a 50-year-old piano a new piano.

You can improve its condition, but many of the original components have already gone through decades of use.

It’s a little like buying a very old car.

Just because the car has been refurbished doesn’t mean it performs like a new car.

So, if you're looking for a piano for serious learning, long-term use, or serious playing, I would be very careful with old pianos.

New or used, we hope will find your right piano with the right condition, good performance, stable touch, and a sound you truly enjoy.

Learn the new way! 😃

How Should a Piano Heater Be Properly Installed? Safe & neatly.

Well, here’s the CRAFTING Way,
something many people may not know.

Not just installed, do it nicely.

❌ The old way:
The wiring is exposed and the installation can look messy. It may work, but it doesn’t look great on an elegant piano.

✅ The better way:
The heater and wiring can be installed neatly, with the cable properly routed and concealed as much as possible.

After all, a piano is a beautiful musical instrument.
A professional installation should take care of function, safety, and appearance.

🔧 But here’s the important part…

The piano soundboard is one of the most important parts of the instrument. We should NEVER simply drill a hole wherever it is convenient.

With proper knowledge of piano construction, there are specific areas around the edge of the soundboard where the wiring can be routed without interfering with the main vibrating area.

This is why experience and knowledge of piano structure really matter.

👉 Don't just ask, “Can it be installed?”
Ask, “Can it be installed properly?”

A good installation should do its job—
while keeping your piano looking as beautiful as it should. 🎹

Function. Safety. Appearance.
All three matter.
