🌏✨ Where scent meets science!

We are honoured to welcome Prof. Can Wang as Technical Committee Member for the 11th IWA Conference on Odours & Air Emissions in Kuala Lumpur (2–5 November 2026).

Prof. Can Wang is a Professor and Director of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Tianjin University, with extensive expertise in VOC biofiltration, odour control systems, and microbial community analysis. He has led numerous research projects, published over 100 scientific papers, and holds more than 30 patents. As a recognised leader in odour and air pollution management, he serves on the Management Committee of the IWA Odours and Volatile Emissions Specialist Group and directs China's VOCs and Odour Pollution Control Committee.

His wealth of academic, industrial, and international experience will be invaluable in advancing our mission and strengthening our technical excellence.

他已发表学术论文100余篇，拥有30多项授权专利，并带领多项国家级和国际科研项目。王教授现任国际水协会（IWA）臭味与挥发性排放专家组管理委员会委员，同时担任中国挥发性有机物与恶臭污染控制专业委员会主任，在推动臭味与空气污染治理技术发展方面作出了重要贡献。

Re: Defensive Driving

As mentality, it is good to reflect the recent traffic accident involving youngsters from Gen Z which grown up playing Arcade Game with simulations of Fast and Furious.

As grandparents, parents and elders from Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennial, it is our responsibility to keep reminding our younger generation on Driving Responsibly on the roads.

Some of the alarming statistics:

"Someone loses their life in a Malaysian road accident every 1hr 56 mins, based on official statistics from March 14, 2024, to March 18, 2025.

Even more alarming, a road accident occurs approximately every 50 seconds"

We should also educate them on DEFENSIVE DRIVING for those are careful on the road.

Defensive driving is defined as "driving to save lives, time, and money, in spite of the conditions around you and the actions of others." It goes beyond basic driving skills, focusing on reducing the risk of collisions by anticipating dangerous situations and practicing specific driving techniques.

As per our Capacity Building commitment, EPG International Sdn Bhd is glad to be organizing a 2-day F2F Training Workshop on OpenAir on 8 & 9 July 2026 (Wed & Thursday) at AC Hotel Puchong, Selangor.

With over 20 years of expertise in agricultural waste management, odour and air quality assessment, biomass degradation, composting technologies, and sustainable agro-waste valorisation, Dr. Sashikala brings extensive research and industry experience to the committee.
