The wait is over. Tonight, the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off.

With colleagues, customers and friends across 13 offices worldwide, we'll be cheering on a few different teams this summer. Some of our Mumsels have even swapped their AEGIR-Marine gear for national team shirts.

While everyone will be hoping for goals, glory and maybe a little football magic, we're most excited about something else: connection.

Because whether you're in Rotterdam, Singapore, Dubai, Houston or somewhere in between, bringing people together is what AEGIR-Marine is all about.

Good luck to all participating teams. May it be a tournament full of great football, friendly rivalry and global connection.

Let the games begin!

We were honoured to contribute to the recent Onboard with Van Meeuwen event in Weesp, where professionals from across the Marine & Offshore industry came together to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest developments in the sector.

During the event, our R&D colleague Kianousch shared insights into the work of the AEGIR-Marine R&D team, focusing on the challenges surrounding Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs), stern tube sealing systems, and the importance of material development, testing and validation in achieving long-term reliability.

The research, testing and practical experience built up by our R&D team over many years continue to support the solutions we deliver to customers worldwide. We were proud to see Kianousch, together with Ruud Muis, contribute to the programme and share their expertise with industry peers.

Thank you to Van Meeuwen for the invitation and for organising a valuable event that encouraged knowledge sharing, meaningful discussions and new connections across the maritime community.

Proud of our long standing partnership with Mercy Ships and the incredible mission of the Africa Mercy.

Recently, Eugene Wolf and Oscar Arnold carried out service work on board the Africa Mercy at Dormac Shipyard in South Africa, helping to keep this vital hospital ship operational. AEGIR-Marine proudly sponsored a large part of the service hours for this project.

This collaboration goes back many years and reminds us of a special initiative from the past, when colleagues donated holiday hours to support Mercy Ships. A great example of the commitment and solidarity within our team and perhaps something to revive again in the future.

On IMO International Day for Women in Maritime, we are sharing the story of our Technical Engineer, Sheila Reig.

From her early days in a refit shipyard in Valencia to her role within our stern tube seal team in the Netherlands, Sheila’s journey reflects curiosity, resilience and a genuine passion for engineering. Today, she works closely with colleagues across sales, production and assembly to deliver practical, reliable solutions for our customers worldwide.

For Sheila, success is about quality, teamwork and continuous learning. Her advice to young women considering a career in maritime engineering is clear: if it interests you, go for it. Challenges are part of the journey, and growth comes from embracing them.

Today recognises the important role women play across the maritime sector and the value of creating an industry where talent and different perspectives can continue to grow. We are pleased to highlight Sheila’s journey and contribution to our team.
