⚠️ Copper theft isn't just a crime - it's a serious safety risk. ⚠️

When electrical equipment is damaged or tampered with, it can become live without warning. Contact with exposed cables, transformers or other network equipment can put lives at risk.

Copper theft can also cause electrical faults, arcing and fires. In many cases, equipment may look normal from the outside but could be damaged and unsafe.

If you see suspicious people or vehicles interfering with power poles, cabling or other electricity equipment:

🚨 Call the police: If the situation is urgent or dangerous, dial 111.
⚡ Report it to EA Networks: Call 0800 430 460 to report any damage to electricity infrastructure in Mid Canterbury.

Please stay well clear of damaged electrical equipment - it may still be live. Keep a safe distance and warn others to do the same.

🎭 Supporting local talent on and off the stage 🎭

Earlier this year, EA Networks was proud to support The Big Little Theatre Company Inc's production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

As a community-owned business, we're committed to supporting initiatives that help people learn, grow and connect. It's fantastic to see the positive impact this production had on everyone involved.

⚡ Electricity can jump. So can danger. ⚡

Before raising equipment or machinery, always look up and check for overhead power lines.

Whether you're operating a tipper truck, excavator, irrigator or other machinery, getting too close to power lines can have serious consequences.

✅ Check your surroundings before you start work.
✅ Keep equipment well clear of power lines.
✅ If in doubt, stop and reassess.

🔧💡 Future engineers in action!

EA Networks is proud to support EPRO8, a hands-on engineering and problem-solving competition that helps young people develop practical STEM skills while having fun.

Recently, Ashburton Intermediate hosted six EPRO8 events involving 20 Mid Canterbury schools. Students worked in teams to tackle a series of creative engineering challenges.

The competition encourages students to think creatively, solve problems, collaborate with others and persevere when challenges arise. Well done to all the students who took part and to everyone involved in making the events such a success.
