Quarry Plant Operator – Mt. Hutt Lime, Alford Forest

Mt. Hutt Lime, a family-run quarry based near Methven, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Quarry Plant Operator to join our hardworking team.

About the Role:
This role involves operating heavy machinery, managing quarry operations, and ensuring our high-quality product is delivered efficiently. We’re looking for someone with experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently once trained.

Key Requirements:

Must be over 18 and legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
Skilled in operating a large CAT loader and Merlot.
Able to provide two good work references.
Capable of working independently to run the plant after training.
Takes pride in their work and workplace.
Proficient in daily grease gun use and maintenance of machinery.
Effective at managing time and maintaining the quality of the product.
Comfortable working as part of a small team in a family-run business.
Communicates effectively with managers about maintenance, repairs, or issues with machines.
Able to track and prepare orders for truck deliveries.
Experience operating a digger and understanding plant machinery (crusher, impactor, screen) is an advantage.
