Big Progress in Just 2 Weeks! 🔨🏠

What a couple of days it’s been!

We’ve been getting stuck into the important groundwork — levelling and strengthening the existing bearers, removing old patched flooring, and getting the kitchen, bathroom and laundry areas ready for their new floors.

It’s all about getting the base right first. A solid foundation sets everything else up for a smooth, quality build.

At the same time, foundations are going in for the new garage and extension!

Only two weeks in and the transformation is already huge. We’re stoked with how this project is taking shape — and there’s plenty more to come! 💪🔨

Waiheke Reno Update 🏡✨

The wooden floors are coming up beautifully on our Waiheke renovation, and it’s so exciting to see everything starting to come together!

The bathroom, laundry and kitchen are almost complete and ready for installation, which means we’re getting very close to seeing the finished spaces take shape.

There’s still plenty to do, but we’re loving watching the transformation happen step by step. We can’t wait to get the skirtings finished, the entry deck completed, and see just how amazing the whole place is going to look!

It’s definitely starting to feel like the final stretch now. 🙌

Stay tuned for more progress from the Waiheke Reno — we’re so excited to share the finished result! 🌿🔨✨

Red Beach Project Update 🏡🔨

It’s been another big week on our new Red Beach project, with plenty of progress behind the scenes!

The demolition and concrete removal are now complete, clearing the way for the next stage of construction. We also had the professional team from AWM Asbestos Limited on site to safely and professionally remove the existing asbestos cladding and soffits.

With that work completed, we’ve now installed the full set of profiles and everything is set out and ready for the slab and block foundations to go in.

It’s great to see the site starting to take shape and the project really moving forward. 🙌

We’re looking forward to getting through our first inspection today, which will hopefully give us the green light to start digging on Monday! 🚜

Another exciting project underway — stay tuned as we share the progress from the Red Beach build. 🔨🏡

One of our recent cladding projects on Whitehills Road, Waitoki started out as what we thought would be a straightforward weatherboard replacement to investigate some suspected rot.

Once we opened it up, we discovered the old head flashing details above the windows had been leaking for years. Water had tracked down the sides of the window openings, causing extensive rot throughout the framing.

The scope quickly grew into a full reframe of the entire rear of the house, along with new weatherboards on three sides. Every window had to be removed, including the interior trims, allowing us to install the correct flashing details, tape all window openings, and rebuild the cladding system to current best practice.

Fortunately, we were able to locate where the damage stopped, replace all affected structural framing, and put everything back together properly.

It's a great reminder that what looks like a small repair can often uncover much bigger issues—but fixing them correctly the first time is always worth it.

If you're seeing signs of water damage or have concerns about your home's cladding, get in touch before a small problem becomes a major one.

It's been a little while since our last update on this Waiheke project. Progress was held up while we waited almost three months for a council amendment to be approved, but once we got the green light, the team got straight into it.

Since then, we've completed the building wrap, cladding, insulation, and GIB installation. The plasterers and painters have also worked their magic, bringing the interior to life with a fresh finish.

We're now waiting for the flooring to be sanded before we return to complete the skirtings and front entrance deck ahead of handover.

We're looking forward to putting the finishing touches on this beautiful home and handing it back to its owners. Stay tuned for the final reveal!

Needed a push this week so have been back on Waiheke over the long weekend through until Friday, making solid progress on our renovation project in Ostend 🔨

The asbestos team has now removed the old roof and wall cladding, uncovering significant rot that needed to be cut out and rebuilt before we could move forward.

We also found the original framing had been pieced together with whatever materials were on hand at the time, so it’s all been stripped out and replaced to meet proper standards.

We’re now closing in on our framing inspection — stay tuned for more updates as this project continues to take shape!

Phase 2, Week 2 – Back on Waiheke 🌊🔨

We’re back out on beautiful Waiheke Island this week to continue pushing forward with our Ostend renovation, and things are really starting to ramp up.

This stage marks a big step in the project, with our full crew on site and a huge week ahead. We’ve got our plumbers and sparkies getting stuck in, kicking off the essential services work that brings everything together behind the scenes. It’s always exciting to see a build move into this phase, where the vision starts becoming a reality.

The team is geared up for a productive stretch, and we’re looking forward to making some serious progress over the coming days. There’s plenty happening on site, and we can’t wait to share how it all comes together.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue transforming this Waiheke property into something special. 👷‍♂️

We’ve officially kicked off Phase 2 of our Waiheke renovation 🔨

With council approvals locked in, we hit the ground running with a major demolition to get things underway.

This near century-old home has definitely kept things interesting… let’s just say the “insulation” situation wasn’t quite up to standard. Turns out the birds and rats had taken matters into their own hands and filled the walls with hay and all sorts of surprises 😅

Big changes are coming on this one—keep an eye out, the transformation is going to be massive! 👀✨
