From humble beginings in 1997, Global Machine Tools the sole distributor of Doosan and Matsuura CNC machine tools in New Zealand, sees things differently. With this key factor in mind backed by the increasing growth and domination of Doosan CNC Machine Tools in the NZ market place, we were presented an opportunity to expand Global’s core business into the cutting tools sector. Global Machine Tools tooling division officially opened in June 2008 with Sumitomo, a world leader in Carbide, Diamond and CBN Cutting Tools, BIG Daishowa, the worlds best Total Tooling System and PH Horn who dominate the worlds grooving industry. In June 2009 the sole distributorship of Guhring cutting tools from Germany was awarded. Guhring are regarded world wide as one of the most innovative and key producers of Drills, Taps & Endmills and are recognised as a "premium" product at an realistic price here in New Zealand. In effect Global Machine Tools are now the only machine tool company in NZ that can offer their clients a total solution from tooling to full CNC turnkey - all based and supported from our purpose built 10,000sqft Auckland facility.

Another successful install by the Global Machine Tools team — this time at Metco Engineering, Wellington. 🇳🇿

Metco are no ordinary engineering shop. Based in Lower Hutt, they operate a world-class 5,000sqm facility delivering laser cutting, CNC milling, CNC turning, fabrication, welding, assembly and powder coating for over 600 clients across New Zealand.

Metco installed the first generation DN Solutions DVF 5000 and it delivered. So when it came time to expand their 5-axis capability, upgrading to the second generation DVF 5000II was the only machine on the list.

A heavy duty brass bush with a fine bored internal bore — finished to tight tolerance on the DN Solutions DNM4500 in just 60 seconds, partnered with the Gühring RF100A Endmill doing what it does best and the part held rock solid in the Kurt DX6 Crossover Series Vice. 🔩

Our Tooling Engineers are working with customers every day — out on the road, on the shop floor, making sure our customers are getting the results they need. From intricate precision components right through to everyday production parts — big or small, complex or simple, we're there for all of it. That's what we do. 💪🔩
