In critical facilities like hospitals, drive system reliability is essential to preventing operational disruptions.

A hospital recently addressed an issue with its cooling tower, which was running an 8-B195 banded v-belt drive. The system required frequent re-tensioning, resulting in rapid belt elongation and a significantly shortened service life.

Following a drive design calculation, the system was upgraded to four single SPB 5000 RP Optibelt RED POWER 3 V-belts. This configuration successfully reduced the total number of belts needed while transmitting the required power efficiently.
