🚧 WE’RE HIRING – INTERMEDIATE CIVIL QUANTITY SURVEYOR 🚧
LAA Civil Construction Limited is looking for an experienced Intermediate Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Auckland.
We are a busy civil construction company delivering a wide range of projects across earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete, retaining, hardscapes, services and general civil works.
We’re looking for someone who is confident working across both tendering and live projects, has strong commercial awareness, and most importantly, has great people skills and the ability to build strong long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and our internal team.
The Role
• Preparing estimates, tenders and detailed cost breakdowns
• Completing civil take-offs and quantity measurements
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Preparing and submitting progress claims
• Identifying, pricing and managing variations
• Subcontractor and supplier pricing and comparisons
• Preparing purchase orders and subcontract agreements
• Monitoring project costs, budgets and margins
• Cost-to-complete forecasting and project reporting
• Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and Directors
• Managing commercial correspondence and supporting project delivery
• Assisting with final accounts and project close-out
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience, preferably within civil construction
• Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, concrete and civil infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings
• Strong Excel and computer skills
• Experience with estimating and quantity take-offs
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Confidence building relationships and dealing with clients face-to-face
• Strong negotiation skills
• A genuine relationship-focused mindset
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A practical attitude and willingness to work closely with our operational team
You don’t need to know absolutely everything — we’re looking for someone with a solid QS foundation who wants to grow with a fast-moving civil construction company.
