Welcome to the HSNZ team, Shane!

We’re excited to officially welcome Shane to Height Services NZ.

Shane brings more than 25 years of hands-on trade experience across rope access, fabrication, welding, mechanical engineering, vehicle fit-outs, maintenance and heavy industry. Better yet, he’s no stranger to working at height, having previously spent many years as an Industrial Abseiler.

It didn’t take long for him to settle into the team… and of course complete one of our unofficial HSNZ rites of passage.

Every HSNZ technician seems to end up with one of these photos, and now Shane has officially earned his place in the collection.

Welcome aboard, Shane—we’re looking forward to having you on the ropes with us!

Some late night urgent modifications by fabricating and tig welding last night by the team

Confined space tank inspections. We found multiple areas where the epoxy had failed and started corroding the floor.
We quickly welded patch pannels overtop and painted a epoxy paint layer over top.

Not all inspections happen at roof level.

Sometimes the job takes us underground.

Carl recently carried out an inspection of slide gates within a central drain structure, navigating confined space conditions to assess the condition and operation of the equipment.

No two days are the same in height safety and engineering, and we're always up for the challenge.

A few snaps from a project keeping the team busy lately.

We’re assisting the client and their HAZOP team with decommissioning an existing tank and bringing an unused tank back into service by rerouting the process pipework.

The focus has been on developing the safest, most efficient and direct pipe runs possible, while working around the challenges of an operational site. Rope access, fabrication, temporary weather protection and plenty of planning have all played a part in getting this one off the ground.

We love projects that require a bit of ingenuity and collaboration to find the best long-term solution. Great effort from everyone involved.
