Pukemokimoki Project Update – Owen Street

Great momentum on site as the structure continues to take shape. Concrete wall panels are complete, first‑fix services are underway, roofing and upper‑level framing are progressing, and windows, doors, stairs and structural steel are nearing completion.

Next, the focus is on roofing, external finishes and pushing toward a fully watertight build as we move closer to lock‑up stage.

Exciting progress all round. The before photos clearly showcase the scale of work and hours that have gone into reaching this stage. Well done, team!

It’s Women in Construction Week and today we’re shining a spotlight on Catherine, Systems, Processes and Quality Lead at TW Construction.

In her role, Catherine supports the way our teams work across the business. She helps design and refine workflows, supports Jobpac and Procore processes, and ensures our systems are clear and consistent. She also plays an important part in maintaining quality standards so our teams have the structure and documentation they need to deliver reliable, high‑quality outcomes.

What drew Catherine to construction is the practical, people‑focused nature of the industry. She enjoys helping teams learn, improving processes and seeing real impact from small changes that make everyday work smoother. The mix of problem solving, teamwork and continuous improvement is what makes the role meaningful to her.

Catherine wishes more people knew that construction is not just for men or only for builders and tradies. The industry offers an incredible variety of roles, from on‑site delivery to technical, operational and leadership positions, and there is space for many different strengths and skill sets. “I am proud to work for a company where women are represented right across the business, whether that is on site, in the trades, in project and operational roles or in senior leadership. Construction is a place where women can thrive at every level, and where capability, contribution and passion matter more than stereotypes.”

If you are considering a career in construction, Catherine encourages you to back yourself. Ask questions, keep learning and surround yourself with people who support your growth. Your perspective and skills are valuable, and there is a place for them in this industry.

Thank you, Catherine! Up next is Lauren.

It’s Women in Construction Week and today we’re introducing Queisha, Junior Quantity Surveyor at TW Construction.

Queisha supports the financial and contractual management of construction projects. This role involves preparing cost estimates, monitoring budgets, and reviewing project documentation to ensure accurate forecasting of materials, labour, and time.

She was drawn to construction because the work is real and tangible. You start with drawings and watch them turn into buildings that people use every day. She also enjoys the variety and the constant learning that comes with every project.

Thinking about a career in construction? Queisha wants you to know there are many pathways beyond site work. Roles in commercial management, quantity surveying, planning, engineering, procurement and design coordination all play a part in delivering successful projects.

If you are considering joining the industry, Queisha's advice is to not be put off by the idea that it has been male dominated. The industry is changing and there are strong opportunities for women to build successful careers. Be curious, ask questions and learn from the people around you. Practical experience and willingness to learn go a long way. Most importantly, be confident in your perspective. Different ways of thinking strengthen teams and lead to better projects.

Thank you, Queisha! Up next, Catherine.

It's Women in Construction Week and today we're shining a spotlight on Nikola, Quantity Surveyor at TW Construction.

Nikola plays a key role in delivering projects on budget, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcome for every build. Drawn to construction for the challenge, the variety, and the chance to meet new people, she loves seeing the lasting impact her work has on communities. Being able to drive past projects and know she contributed to them is something she’s proud of.

Nikola would love to see more women in construction and her advice to women considering the industry is simple: focus on being competent and professional. Earning trust is powerful and it helps break down barriers for everyone who follows. With the right attitude and commitment, construction isn’t the tough environment many imagine.

Thanks, Nikola! Up next, Queisha.
Stay tuned for more of the team this week.

What an event. TW Construction is proud to sponsor this year’s Run the Runway at Hawke’s Bay Airport. It’s a unique experience and a great way for our community to enjoy the runway in a whole new way.

We’re excited to welcome as a new sponsor of Run the Runway 2026.

As a locally owned business delivering residential, commercial and industrial projects across Hawke’s Bay, TW Construction plays a hands-on role in building our region’s future.

Their support of Run the Runway, and The Acorn Project Hawke’s Bay, reflects a genuine commitment to community. Thanks to their generosity, this year’s winner prize packs are getting a serious boost.

We’re proud to have them on board as we gear up for another unforgettable event.
