Atawhai PV Off Grid

We were contacted by the clients who were building in the stunning/sunny area of Atawhai in Nelson.
They were keen to utilise the north facing aspect and have their new home running completely off grid on Solar.

We have installed:
11 Kw of solar panels
15 Kw inverter charger
8.5 Kwh 48v Lithium Batteries x4 - weighing in at 97kg each
7kva Auto start generator

Batteries are stored in the garage which is solid concrete - walls, floor and ceiling.
The control gear and batteries are protected with a metal lockable barrier.

Solar system can be accessed by the homeowner via an app that shows, usage, loads, and production.
4 Persons living in the house using a Wood burner, Gas hot water and hob

System will last 2 days in winter in cloudy conditions. Generator will kick in if needed after that.
