A dramatic moment as 2 x 4000L hot water tanks and 2 x Solar Blocks are lifted to the roof of this high rise building in central Wellington. Our guys are currently installing a 56 panel solar thermodynamic centralized hot water system, which will supply 70 apartments in this redevelopment project. Even in winter and covered with snow, the 32 panel solar thermodynamic water heating system keeps the microbes warm in the new waste water treatment plant at Cardrona Valley. The Alternative Energy Company (TAEC) are proud to be part of our country’s drive to reduce carbon emissions and Fonterra’s decarbonization journey. Through our current contract with Fonterra’s Palmerston North Plant, our solar thermodynamic hot water system will reduce their dependence on natural gas boilers.
The system consists of 3 Solar Blocks and 120 solar thermodynamic panels and installation began in September 2023. Watch this space for more updates on this exciting project.
