We’ve been blown away by the support since introducing ourselves on the local community pages — thanks so much to everyone who reached out and welcomed us!

This past week Josh has been chatting with homeowners looking to sort retaining walls, decks, renovations, and site prep for upcoming projects.

Some jobs come with a few extra challenges, whether it’s access, levels, drainage, or needing a couple of things coordinated properly. That’s the sort of work we enjoy — finding practical solutions and getting things sorted properly.

Spot the Difference, Renovation Edition!

Use the stairs on the bottom right as a point of reference and see what Josh has been up to lately!🔨

Here’s a quick backstory: our client wanted to relocate their laundry upstairs, so Josh converted a linen cupboard into a new laundry space. Downstairs (pictured), the former laundry and spare room are now a modern guest bedroom with a beautiful ensuite.

🔍 Answer Key:
1. The wall has been moved closer to the stairs
2. The old laundry door has been closed off
3. The entrance to the bedroom has been relocated
4. A new door has been added inside the bedroom for the ensuite

🔨 We’ve been hard at work on a laundry + bathroom renovation, which our wonderful client is loving!

Here’s what we’ve done so far, it includes some outdoor work too…follow us if you’re curious to see how it all comes together. 📷 👀

- old laundry removed
- interior walls reframed and gibbed
- concrete poured for new shower
- basement exterior door closed in
- concrete path removed
- small plinth built for gas bottles

Once we install the cavity slider, reglaze the basement window, and plaster/sand the gib, it’ll be a completely different space! ✨

Moral of the following story—sometimes the stuff you can’t see matters the most!

As you can see here, the bottom plate along this entire wall was completely rotted out.

(A bottom plate holds your wall framing steady and connects it to the floor. So if it’s rotten, the wall can start to sag or shift, and moisture will spread to other parts of your house.)

Josh got it all replaced in a day, and our customer’s stoked! ✅
