Goodman Contractors Goodman Contractors have been involved in earthmoving and road construction for over 50 years The business was started by Rick and his brother in 1960.

Goodman Contractors Limited (Goodmans) is a family operated Civil Engineering Contracting company situated in Waikanae, on the Kapiti Coast. Years later Rick's sons and daughter returned to the business with Rick. Goodmans employ the following staff; machine operators, supervisors, project managers, surveyors, mechanics (heavy, light vehicle, truck), fitters, welders, component rebuild specialist,

spray-painters, sand-blasters, administrators, quality assurance, information technology, human resources, health & safety and finance. Goodmans has a certified and documented business system in place including Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment. Current certification includes ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and NZTA prequalification to 4A. Machinery owned by Goodmans includes various excavators, dumpers, motorscrapers, bulldozers, graders, rollers, compactors, loaders, watercarts and trucks. They range in size from 4 tonne to 90 tonne catering for a range of different work. All plant is fitted with Roll Over Protection cabs and is part of a regular servicing and maintenance programme.

Rollers - Made in house for rolling out and precutting geogrid sheets.

Wabco Scraper 222G - Had a broken tooth on the bullgear, now ready to replace and head back out.

CAT Dumper 730A - Has been waiting for a rebuild for at least 5 years. Our mechanics are going to be stoked when it finally leaves the workshop!

🚧Throwback to 1990 Macalister Park Job🚧

Rick Acquired a contract in 1990 to make a cutting hole in the hill for a new water reservoir. The council had Goodmans use this dirt to resurface the park which had been an old landfill. Quite cool to see the park now 36 years later still looking GOOD and utilised everyday by dog walkers and sports players alike.

Plimmerton Farms 🚧

The GOOD work continues on the Plimmerton Farms job! The photos are from the end of March but the 637s are running dirt flat out this month. Peat undercuts and ground improvements continue.

More SRP are being constructed and major culverts carry on.
