Over 80,000 people agreed that the electricity market needs fixing—proof that there's real demand for change. Power prices are hitting everyday New Zealanders hard, and without reform in the market we'll keep seeing energy hardship rise.

Our Fair Energy Manager Phil went along yesterday to watch the petition be delivered (spot him in the background of this reel!) and to spread the Toast kaupapa: imagine an electricity market built not on maximising profits, but on taking care of our community.

We hope to see this petition recognised, and in the meantime we'll keep doing our bit to fight for change.

Cyclone Vaianu is setting up to roar across the North Island. Strong winds and heavy rain could cause power outages. Due to the winds it may take a while to get reconnected. If you do experience an outage, call Toast's outage hotline on 0800 688 243. It could be busy so stay on the line 😀

Powerco, one of NZ's largest network companies has some good advice on getting prepped. Especially if you are medically dependent on power for your health and wellbeing and/or have critical loads.
