Those of you slogging up Varleys, or swooshing down Zacs, or even swishing down Wha out may notice a new flat area at the T4/vertigo/varleys junction. Carved out of rock for your gathering and congregating pleasure by the lads at TGL.
If you come in from zacs you may notice we had to carve out the cool rock steps. Whilst this hurt our hearts, we also will need to get a few hundred track barrows of gravel thru. Don't worry, as nature is wont it will carve back out over time.

Pohatu (Rocky) has started - well the end of the middle, not the middle of the middle, or the top of the middle, or the top, but a start is a start. We built this lil rock wall. (Coincidence it was Anthony Edmonds Birthday???......) Anyways, much much more rocky goodness and trickery to come.
We have also largely finished the Upper Northface build. It DOES need time to settle and it does need to be surfaced. But soon....... Just "don't be a dick" and ride it, like a few have. Just after the rain even, leaving ruts, including one which caught water and ran it down the track - good job that guy....... May your pants be still filled with what ever, after you came around the corner and saw the water containers....we see your skids. - Don't be a Dick!!

Yes, Wha Out IS open.
A Stylish grade 4 who likes rides in the wind. Does suffer from some acne but could be argued that it just adds character. (plus those rocks keep bike shops in business). As Wha Out ages, it won't be going in for botox, lines and wrinkles are meant to be fun for this one.

Wha Out is largely all done - new plants planted, old plants chipped, rocks dug in to tear tires and dent and prop up the bike shop industry, rocks paved, slabs uncovered, stumps removed. BUT it does need time to settle, and NO entry and orange fences, mean NO "oh I'm just checking it out" or "but I know the guys who built it" - we built it, and we say NO!.
Just let it settle petal, and it will be all the minta for it.
A nice trail that doesn't have a lot of elevation drop, but retains momentum (unless you booboo) well, a few cool features to keep you on your toes, and the odd option as well. A drop (or a cool curving wallride for the air adverse) into a nice double with a case pad (or a rollable table for those who don't like big holes beneath them. A short, but easy climb (or a big near vertical step for those with an Olympic Sprint), and some lil steps and humps and small slabs/rockgardens. This is a trail to wear in.

TGL is back in action (as you've seen from the BMX Track Pics) and been cranking along on Wha Out. Some nice we features...

TGL is back in action (as you've seen from the BMX Track Pics) and been cranking along on Wha Out. Some nice we features starting to appear from the epic amounts of Gorse and barberry encountered upon the way. Huge amounts has been chipped/mulched to make things look pretty.

Work has been progressing mightily all over Makara for TGL the last wee while. Rebenching and surfacing the top of Aratehi - (which still needs your wheels and feet OFF it for a while longer so it sets WITHOUT wheel ruts in it. *boring!*). Tweaks and some love on Northface (which again, we'd love if people obeyed the closed signs and fences. Yes we know your mom says your special, but it still doesn't mean you get to ride it yet). And more progress on Wha Out. It's looking great, but still a long way to go to being open. Some cool rock found tho.
