✨ The Revival of Iloilo’s Most Beautiful Intelligent Dancing Fountain ✨

In 2022, Megaworld entrusted Crystal Blue Enterprises Inc. to take over and rehabilitate the existing dancing fountain at Festive Walk Iloilo.

This was not simply a matter of replacing equipment.

Before actual installation could begin, extensive study, planning, engineering, and system design had to be undertaken. Every detail had to be carefully considered to develop the right solution for the existing fountain.

One of the biggest challenges was Megaworld’s requirement to rehabilitate and modernize the fountain without excavation.

Removing the existing granite stones would have been disruptive to mall operations, visually intrusive for visitors, and costly due to the value and limited availability of the original materials.

After months of careful study and engineering design, Crystal Blue developed a solution that allowed the fountain to be rehabilitated while preserving the existing structure and architectural character.

In specialized projects like this, the lowest price does not always mean the best long-term value.

Many contractors may be able to offer a lower initial cost, but only a few have the specialized experience to study, plan, design, execute, troubleshoot, and continue supporting a complex water-feature system after installation.

Recently, I visited a newly built house and noticed several long hairline cracks on the walls.

Of course, cracks are never ideal. But in many cases, they can be repaired with crack filler and a fresh coat of paint.

As I stood there looking at those cracks, one thought came to mind...

Why do professionally built swimming pools often cost more per square meter than a house?

The photos below show cracks on the walls of a newly built house. While these cracks are not ideal, they can often be repaired with crack filler and repainting because house walls are not designed to hold water.

According to the client, their contractor left the swimming pool project unfinished.

After reviewing the construction photos they shared with us, we noticed several areas that raise engineering concerns. Based on the photos, the actual construction appears to differ from the intended structural design, including the reinforcement details, concrete work, and construction methods.

A swimming pool is not just another concrete structure.

When completely filled with water, it carries an enormous load. If the structural design and construction are not properly executed, the pool may be at greater risk of cracking, leaking, or requiring major repairs. In some cases, deficiencies can also affect the surrounding structure.
