Your building or facility is consuming energy. Someone inside needs to manage it properly — or your company pays the penalty.

Under RA 11285, any facility consuming 50,000 kWh or more per year is required to have a Certified Energy Manager on record. Fines for non-compliance run up to ₱1 million. Criminal liability starts after that.

VESC Academy is running the next CEM Training cohorts this June 15–22 and August 17–24, 2026 — fully online, with both live synchronous sessions and self-paced asynchronous modules. No travel required. 56 hours, done around your schedule.

Led by practicing energy professionals who conduct real audits across commercial, industrial, and government facilities. This is the knowledge you actually use on the job — structured into a DOE-recognized certification program.
₱16,888 per person. Group discounts available.

Your electricity bill is your building's silent profit killer.

Most commercial and industrial facilities in the Philippines pay ₱9–12 per kWh from the grid — during the exact hours when solar panels produce the most energy.

A properly sized rooftop solar system can cut that to ₱3–5/kWh. That's a 50–70% reduction in daytime electricity cost.
Here's what the numbers actually look like for C&I solar:

→ 3–5 year payback period
→ 25-year system life
→ Minimal maintenance
→ No fuel cost, no price volatility

The key? Don't oversize. Match the system to your daytime base load — not your total consumption. That's how you get the fastest ROI.

If your facility spends more than ₱500K/month on electricity, solar isn't optional anymore. It's a financial decision you're leaving on the table.

ADVISORY Extension of Deadline for CY2025 Compliance Reports of Designated Establishments

April 20, 2026
Heads up, Designated Establishments.

The DOE just extended the deadline for submitting your 2025 compliance reports to May 15, 2026.

This covers your Annual Energy Utilization Report (AEUR), Annual Energy Efficiency and Conservation Report (AEECR), and Energy Audit Reports (EARs) where applicable.

A few things to keep in mind:

All submissions must go through the DE Online Submission Portal. Off-portal submissions will not be accepted.

Monthly Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) implementation reports are still required on schedule.

The extension was issued in line with the national energy emergency declared by President Marcos on March 24 — a response to global fuel supply pressures from the Middle East conflict.

This isn't extra time to delay. It's extra time to get it right.

If your facility hasn't started preparing its AEUR or energy audit report, now is the time. The DOE is tightening its monitoring — and the data you submit will shape the policies that affect your operations moving forward.

Need help with your energy audit or compliance submissions? That's what we do at Vega Energy Services Corp.

Our founder Alcantara on why Vega exists. Five years in, the mission hasn't changed.

Why I Started Vega

Pandemic. Health Square. I was at a crossroads.

Ten years as an energy manager. A comfortable office. A steady paycheck.

Or the wild west of starting my own company.

I called my friend Ian Torres — a fellow energy efficiency practitioner. One question kept circling between us: why start something now?

Then it hit me.

The pandemic wasn't just a disruption. It was a reset. A chance to ask myself what I wanted the last chapter of my career to look like.

Three things made me jump:

I wanted to build something I could pass on to the next generation.

I wanted to give back — through expertise, training, and real contribution to this nation.

I wanted energy efficiency to be my legacy, not just my job.

That's how Vega Energy Services Corp. was born.

The lesson: The safest door is not always the right one. Sometimes a crisis gives you permission to finally walk through the one you've been staring at for years.

Question: What door did the pandemic push you to finally open? I'd love to hear your story in the comments.

VESC Completes Level 2 Energy Audit at Vishay Semiconductor Plant in Taguig

TAGUIG CITY — April 16, 2026. Vega Energy Services Corp. (VESC) has completed an ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audit at Vishay's semiconductor manufacturing facility inside the FTI Complex, Taguig City.
The audit covered instrumented load measurement, interval data analysis, power quality analysis and reconciliation of installed equipment against nameplate ratings — across a 24/7 production environment that includes cleanrooms, chilled-water systems, and process cooling.
Vishay is one of the world's largest producers of discrete semiconductors and passive components.
"Semiconductor plants are among the most technically demanding sites we audit," said VESC President William Alcantara. "The access granted by the Vishay team is what made the depth of this audit possible."
Findings will be turned over under confidentiality. VESC is a DOE-certified ESCO and PE2 Member
