NXP Romania, in partnership with the Workgroup for Microelectronics of the Romanian Academy, was proud to co-organize Ziua Microelectronicii 2026 in Bucharest, a major event that engaged key stakeholders from industry, academia, research, and the public sector.
During the event, Simona Almajan, Managing Director of NXP Romania, shared NXP’s perspective on the key pillars needed to strengthen Romania’s microelectronics ecosystem, from positioning the sector as a strategic national priority aligned with European ambitions, to stimulating big investment across the microelectronics value chain in Romania, developing talent, and reinforcing R&D capabilities.
The discussions highlighted a shared understanding: Romania has significant potential in microelectronics, but unlocking it requires stronger alignment, collaboration, and sustained commitment across the entire ecosystem.
Throughout the day, participants explored both Romania’s existing strengths and future opportunities. It was also reaffirmed that Romania’s highly skilled engineering talent remains one of its most valuable assets and a critical enabler of future growth.
As microelectronics continues to play a central role in innovation, digital transformation, and economic resilience, fostering a connected and collaborative ecosystem becomes increasingly important.
At NXP Romania, we remain dedicated to supporting the development of the microelectronics value chain by contributing our expertise, investing in talent development, and working alongside industry, academic, and public-sector partners to strengthen the local ecosystem.
