We’re excited to announce our $90 million Series A funding round, led by Lux Capital, co-led by Upfront Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, Island Green Capital, and RTX Ventures, and with participation from BRV Capital Management, Fathom Fund, and Venrex.

The new investment will help accelerate laser communications partnerships, scale in-space systems, and expand international operations.

“Observable Space is leading the race to capture light - to see, navigate, and communicate from space to ground.” -Shahin Farshchi, Lux Capital

We have been awarded a $94 million U.S. Space Force contract under the APFIT program to advance deployable optical sensing infrastructure for tracking and precisely observing objects in space.

“This APFIT award is significant for the sheer speed at which it allows the Department of War to operate,” said Mr. Jeremy Verbout, Assistant Secretary for Mission Capabilities. “The Department is acting on the urgent need for mobile, off-grid robotic telescopes with Observable Space’s Deployable, Attritable Optical Systems. These systems will provide the Joint Force with high-fidelity space domain awareness.”

Today we closed a $90 million Series A and a $94 million U.S. Space Force contract to scale the next-generation of optical infrastructure for space. We’re building vertically integrated systems across laser communications, optical sensing, and in-space payloads.

This marks a major milestone in our purpose with scaling the most resilient space sensing capabilities.

Observable Space helped unlock high-speed laser links for NASA’s Artemis II mission, enabling high-definition video and data transmission from lunar distance in partnership with The Australian National University, NASA Glenn Research Center, & Quantum Opus LLC

“Advancing US leadership in space - and ground-based optics is core to our mission, and turn-key laser communication ground stations are a critical component of that future.” - Daniel Roelker, CEO of Observable Space

“You just push this button, and in three hours, you’re counting photons.” - Josh Cassada, former NASA Astronaut and co-founder of Quantum Opus.

Excited to see how collaborations like this push the boundaries of what’s possible - bringing us closer to a truly connected space economy.
