What can you do if you have water in your basement or crawl space? 🌧️
Unfortunately, not much. This is ground water. If you pump it out, it will come back.
We are getting loads of calls of homes that do not have sump pumps that have water in their crawlspaces/basements. The unfortunate answer is that we cannot do anything at this time. We can pump water out, but it will come back, and back, and back until the overall ground water level goes back to normal.
In the future, the way to potentially mitigate this is by having a sump pump in your basement or crawl space and hope the water table stays manageable in order for the sump pump to be able to keep up.
Move important belongings to higher ground and disconnect/turn off electrical appliances or equipment if water is even remotely close to it. Do NOT come in contact with water that is already touching an electrical appliance - you are at risk of shock at that point.
We're also struggling to get to some locations due to how high the water is on roads approaching these homes.
We hate giving you all this answer, but it is what it is. We need no rain, dry weather, some sun, and some wind to get this water out of here!
Fingers crossed for more sunshine and fair weather. 🤞
