A traditional shower threshold might not seem like a big deal, until stepping over it becomes difficult. It's one of the features often considered in accessible and aging-in-place bathroom renovations, but it can also be a practical design choice for anyone thinking about long-term comfort. Accessibility doesn't have to look clinical. With the right design, it can feel completely at home in a beautiful bathroom.

Would you consider a curbless shower in your next bathroom remodel?

The kitchen where everyone gets crowded around the same counter. The bathroom that's always occupied. The room that never seems to have enough space.

Sometimes hosting a few big gatherings tells you more about your home's layout than anything else.

What's the one thing in your home that drives you crazy when guests come over?

A kitchen can have beautiful cabinets and still feel frustrating. A bathroom can have expensive finishes and still feel cramped.

Sometimes the real problem is the layout.

Moving a doorway, changing the placement of fixtures, reworking traffic flow, or opening up a poorly arranged space can completely change how a room functions.

That's why good remodeling starts with understanding how you use the space, not just what finishes you want to put in it.

One of the biggest mistakes with aging-in-place renovations is waiting until a change in mobility makes the renovation urgent.

Planning ahead gives you more time to think through what your home may need, not just today, but years from now.

That could mean wider doorways, better lighting, lever handles, or even rethinking the layout of a main-level space.

Have you ever thought about what your home might need 10 or 20 years from now?
