☀️ Solar savings that keep adding up!

Marv & Kathy Somers went solar with Northwind Solar in 2020, installing a 5.85 kW rooftop system at their Stevens Point home.

More than six years later, Marv recently shared just how low their electric bills have been:
“Went solar a few years ago. One bill 30 cents, next one minus 68 cents, next one minus $2.68, last one $7.33. I am happy.”

Their 18-panel system was designed to generate approximately 6,536 kWh of clean energy each year and offset about 73% of the home’s historical annual electricity use.

We love hearing from customers years after installation and seeing their solar investment continue to deliver.

Thanks for sharing, Marv! ☀️

What happens to the solar electricity your home doesn't use?

That's where net metering and your utility's solar rules come in.

How excess solar production is credited can vary by utility, and understanding those rules is an important part of designing a system around how you actually use electricity.

🎥 Watch Residential Solar Consultant Kyle Galloway explain net metering in about a minute.

When the grid goes down out here, crews don't always reach the rural roads first.

Solar with battery storage does two jobs. Day to day it cuts what you buy from the utility. When a storm takes the lines down, it keeps your lights, your well pump, your furnace and your freezer running.

We install, FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc., Enphase, and Tesla battery systems across Central Wisconsin.

October is National Coop Month!

We're a worker-owned cooperative. Nobody here works on commission. The people who sell, design, install, and service your system own the company, which means nobody has a reason to sell you more than your house, business, or nonprofit needs.

Free estimates, no pressure, just information and answers.

Does Your Roof Have to Face South for Solar?

Think your roof has to face south to go solar? Think again. ☀️
East and west-facing roofs can still be great candidates for solar.

Shade, roof space, pitch and when your home uses electricity can all matter just as much as the direction your house faces.

🎥 Watch Residential Solar Consultant Kyle Galloway explain why you shouldn't rule out solar just because your roof doesn't point south.
