The next legislative session starts January 20th, and Alaska’s construction season can't wait. Because of our short summer window, timing matters more here than almost anywhere else in the U.S. If the Legislature doesn’t act early to approve the state match from last year, 2026 projects won’t go out to bid in time. This puts jobs, businesses and communities at risk.

That’s why approving the match must be voted on quickly when the Legislature convenes. Delays cost Alaska real money and real opportunities. Early action keeps our construction pipeline strong and our economy moving. The match program has worked well for Alaska for years — let’s keep it going!
