When working around confined lifting points, a sling's physical profile can make all the difference. Our latest blog explores the engineering behind the Slingmax® Helix® Sling and how its compact profile is helping solve one of the most common challenges in overhead lifting. Learn how patented Rifled Cover® Technology, proven K-Spec® Core Yarn, and a lightweight HMPE jacket work together to deliver high lifting capacity in a significantly smaller footprint, making lifts easier in applications with restricted hardware, crowded hooks, and confined lifting points.

Lift Smarter With ONYX.

Not all roundslings are built the same. The ONYX High Performance Roundsling from Slingmax® is engineered with an HMPE O-Spec core that delivers exceptional strength while dramatically reducing sling weight. At half the weight of polyester roundslings with the same capacity—and less than 10% the weight of comparable multi-part wire rope slings—ONYX makes rigging easier to handle, transport, and position on the job.

A double-layer polyester jacket is designed for both durability and inspection. The black outer cover resists abrasion and UV exposure, while the red inner layer provides a clear visual indicator that the sling has reached its removal criteria. Combined with less than 1% elongation at rated capacity, ONYX offers the control and reliability required for demanding lifts.

Slingmax has physically break tested ONYX slings up to 350,000 http://lbs., providing proven performance for critical lifting applications.

Thank you to Bishop Lifting for hosting the Built to Lift event, held July 10–12 at the Ga***rd Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for the Slingmax team to connect with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of lifting and rigging.

We appreciated the opportunity to showcase Slingmax and Yale Cordage solutions to Bishop Lifting decision-makers from across the country and to strengthen relationships through meaningful conversations focused on collaboration, innovation, and long-term partnership.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with our team—we look forward to continuing the conversations.

Uneven sling tension can lead to unstable lifts, unnecessary adjustments, and added risk on the job. The Slingmax Synthetic Equalizer Block is engineered to automatically equalize tension across all sling legs as the load is applied, helping distribute the load more evenly throughout the lift.

Designed for use with Twin-Path® Roundslings, the Equalizer Block self-adjusts under load, eliminating the need to manually reposition slings or hooks before lifting. The result is improved load balance, more efficient rigging, and greater confidence during critical lifting operations.

When every sling leg shares the load as intended, every lift starts on a stronger foundation. Learn more: https://hubs.la/Q04qh9qH0

Load edges can quickly damage synthetic slings, so it is important to protect them.

The CornerMax® Sleeve is designed to provide industry-leading cut protection when a traditional CornerMax Pad isn't practical. Ideal for applications with limited edge clearance or repetitive lifting operations like lifting concrete, the CornerMax Sleeve delivers unmatched protection with a cut resistance rating of 25,000 pounds per inch of sling width.

Made from high-tech fibers and laboratory tested for cut resistance, the CornerMax Sleeve helps extend sling life while allowing synthetic slings to be used in applications that were once dominated by chain, wire rope, and metal mesh slings. In some applications, the sleeve can even be attached directly to the sling to prevent movement between lifts.

Protect your slings. Improve efficiency. Lift with confidence.

A crew with Kiewit Corporation put the Helix® Synthetic Roundsling to work during a directional drilling operation, supporting a 20’ section of 30” diameter, ½” thick steel pipe weighing 10,000 pounds

Using a 20ft Helix roundsling, the pipe was securely supported while crews welded this section onto the previous run—keeping the load stable, protected, and properly controlled throughout the process.

Designed for demanding applications, Helix roundslings deliver high strength, low weight, and load protection where precision and safety matter most.

When space is limited but the lift demands strength, Helix® High Performance Roundslings deliver.

Engineered with K‑Spec® high‑performance core fiber, Helix roundslings provide exceptional capacity with less than 1% elongation—all in a narrow, lightweight profile built for tight hardware and confined lift points. The USA‑braided HMPE jacket protects the load‑bearing core from abrasion and chemicals, while integrated Rifled Cover Technology increases strength and reduces sling weight and width.

From turbine to transformer lifts, Helix is built for precision, durability, and confidence when space is tight.

As the Artemis II mission continues to redefine the limits of human spaceflight, Slingmax® and Twin‑Path® synthetic roundslings remain part of the groundwork that helped make the mission possible. Trusted during mission‑critical handling of the Orion spacecraft during testing operations, Twin‑Path slings supported precision lifting operations over the Pacific Ocean.

The Artemis II crew surpassed the record set by Apollo 13 in 1970 for the farthest humans have ever traveled from Earth. NASA has confirmed the mission profile places astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen at a maximum distance of 252,757 miles from our planet as they travel around the Moon.

From critical ground handling to deep‑space exploration, advanced rigging solutions play an essential role in enabling historic achievements.

A flashback to November 2018, when Twin‑Path® Slings were used during the lifting of the sixth and final water runner Barnhart Crane and Rigging transported for a Michigan hydroelectric power plant project that began in 2013.

Each water runner weighed 272.2 tonnes and arrived from Shanghai by heavy‑lift vessel before moving by hopper barge to the site. Twin‑Path Slings supported controlled, balanced handling during staging under a gantry crane, helping protect these large, precision‑machined components and supporting safe ex*****on of a complex heavy‑lift operation.
