Check out the upcoming training sessions taking place this May at the I&I Sling Greensboro, North Carolina Branch. These hands-on courses, led by RiggSafe Solutions, Inc., are designed to build real-world knowledge and keep your rigging practices sharp, safe, and compliant.

On May 27, 2026, the Competent Rigger 1 course delivers an 8-hour program focused on foundational to intermediate rigging techniques, rigging math for symmetric loads, and understanding and managing center-of-gravity (CG) dynamics. Attendees will also learn proper inspection practices for common slings and rigging hardware, along with essential communication techniques for mobile, tower, and overhead crane environments. This course is ideal for those developing their skills and ready to advance with hands-on experience.

On May 28–29, 2026, the Qualified Inspector Level 3 course provides a comprehensive two-day deep dive into inspection criteria and techniques aligned with OSHA and ASME standards. Participants will evaluate a wide range of slings, rigging hardware, and below-the-hook lifting devices—including real, field-damaged equipment—to better understand defects, failures, and proper applications. This course is built for professionals looking to strengthen inspection knowledge and elevate safety practices in the field.

In recognition of Construction Safety Week, we started off the week with a one-hour Toolbox Talk with The Lane Construction Corporation in Woodbridge, Virginia, where crews are actively working on a major road and intersection expansion project featuring multiple overpasses.

The team took time to talk through the day’s tasks, identify hazards, reinforce safe practices, and make sure everyone was aligned before work began. These conversations help set the tone for a safer, more productive day as work continues on this complex infrastructure project.

We are proud to support crews who prioritize safety at the start of every shift, because when we plan with purpose, everyone goes home safe.

Lift Smarter With ONYX.

When weight matters and performance can’t be compromised, it’s time to rethink what you’re lifting with. The ONYX High Performance Roundsling from Slingmax® features an HMPE O-Spec core, delivering exceptional strength in a significantly lighter package—half the weight of polyester roundslings of equal capacity and less than 10% the weight of comparable multi-part wire rope slings. The result is easier handling, faster rigging, and greater efficiency on demanding jobs.

A double-layer polyester jacket—black on the outside, red on the inside—resists abrasion and UV exposure while simplifying inspection. If red is visible, it’s time to remove the sling from service. Inside, O-Spec fiber enhances durability and cycling performance without adding weight, while less than 1% elongation at rated capacity ensures precise control on critical lifts.

Unlike slings validated by theory alone, ONYX capacities have been break tested up to 350,000 lbs., delivering proven performance you can trust.
