On May 27, 2026, the Competent Rigger 1 course delivers an 8-hour program focused on foundational to intermediate rigging techniques, rigging math for symmetric loads, and understanding and managing center-of-gravity (CG) dynamics. Attendees will also learn proper inspection practices for common slings and rigging hardware, along with essential communication techniques for mobile, tower, and overhead crane environments. In recognition of Construction Safety Week, we started off the week with a one-hour Toolbox Talk with The Lane Construction Corporation in Woodbridge, Virginia, where crews are actively working on a major road and intersection expansion project featuring multiple overpasses.

The team took time to talk through the day’s tasks, identify hazards, reinforce safe practices, and make sure everyone was aligned before work began. These conversations help set the tone for a safer, more productive day as work continues on this complex infrastructure project.
