Treat yourself to some quiet time.
Are you, like many, a little uncomfortable with the idea of the "thoughts and feelings" that the quiet may present? That soft resistance is, more often than not, a clear indicator that you "need" the quiet.
The resistance to quiet time with our "self" is often the pull to stay the same, even when we're not satisfied with where we are, or how things/an aspect of our life is. Familiarity isn't synonymous with "the best," it is simply what we've known and too often, simply what we've settled for.
Don't be afraid of or turn away from "Better." You know you want it, and I know (even if you can't yet accept it) "Better" is looking for you to step to it and claim it. Is it work? Hell yes but so is maintaining an unsatisfying life, which is akin to Existing vs. Living.
Step away from the noise. Don't just "try to dial it back."
Step Away from the Noisy World and the gravitational pull of the collective consciousness, which tends to be loud, ever present and counterproductive to self-awareness, growth, joy, pleasure and a life well-lived.
Please don't give up just because the noise gets louder, which you can expect (know) it will as soon as you head towards a healthier, saner path. In fact, when considering a shift away from the noise, and even your smallest step toward greater inner-peace, consider this your "heads-up" to expect the noisy world to become even louder, expect the pull to stay the same to feel stronger and be prepared for some people within you sphere to be less than supportive of your efforts. You may be more desirous of "Better" than some in your circle. Don't be stopped, be the example.
Step away anyway! You deserve it, and you likely already know you need "something" to be different, for things to be better.
Some things must change to clear/open space for "Better." Maybe you just haven't made space in your life for a "better life experience." We do that for a range of reasons - that's another post for another day, but we'll get to it.
CALL TO ACTION:
Give yourself quiet time and peace-filled space to simply "be" with You.
Thirty-minutes outside in a peace-filled, natural, quiet space can be incredibly restorative and support compassionate, gentle introspection and a reset to our nervous system. It can be one of the best, natural ways to ease anxiety.
Consider Googling "Parks near me with a lake or waterfall" -- then pick one, take a walk or drive to it, kick back and breathe. You'll be amazed at the messages and insights your Quiet Mind will present.
Do it for you. The better, more satisfying life calling us from within has waited long enough. Don't you think so too? π€
Baby steps with self-love, self-compassion and the gentleness we may not always extend to ourselves will be great supporters of our efforts.
Quiet calmness is calling and "Better" has waited long enough.
