💫Leading up to International Women in Engineering day on June 23, we are highlighting members of our Women’s Interest Network (WIN) Employee Resource Group (ERG) throughout the month of June and the impact these employees make across our site.

Meet Tristen!👋
Tristen is a Business Analyst at BRPN with 6 years of experience. She is a chemical engineer that supports 5 business teams across the site to evaluate reliability performance and provide support for projects.

Tristen was inspired to pursue a career in engineering due to her passion for chemistry and math. Tristen also has a strong passion for solving problems which come in handy for her in a field like this.

🧠Tristen shared a project she has done in her career that was especially meaningful to her: “I led the development of a new polypropylene product, helping plan the trials and supporting the process until it was launched commercially.”

💭Her advice to future engineers?
Be open minded to any opportunities and always lean in towards learning and growing. She also suggests building a strong network early in your career and to find a mentor.

❤️This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Our Veteran Advocacy and Support Team (VAST) proudly participated alongside Governor Jeff Landry in the Hero Hump, a six mile march where over 11,000 U.S. flags were carried and planted on the Capitol lawn, each representing a fallen service member from Louisiana.

We wish everyone a safe and reflective .

Meet Ellen! 🧡

Ellen is currently a Hydroprocessing Technical Lead with 13 years of experience.

She also recently joined the ACE Include & Retain Sub-Committee. She enjoys getting to network with other ACE members in the Baton Rouge area that she might not have had the opportunity to meet if it wasn’t for the ACE.

In her own words,
💬 “I think it is awesome to have different months dedicated to different Heritage / History. I continue to learn more about AAPI Heritage Month every year I am here; and take comfort to know that this celebration is meant to recognize the long history of AAPI people in the United States.”

🧠 Her advice to the next generation of STEM leaders?
Be resilient; everything is hard before it is easy.

She enjoys the people she has met along the way. She has always felt welcomed by her team and been treated with respect.

🌳Outside of work, Ellen enjoys playing pickleball and visiting national parks.

Jaishri is currently a Machinery Engineer for Baton Rouge Polymers North (BRPN).

She also serves as the BRPN Rep for ACE, where she participates in and leads events, discussions, and initiatives that promote inclusion and professional growth. Through ACE, she has built meaningful connections across teams, strengthened her sense of belonging, and expanded her leadership and collaboration skills beyond her day-to-day role.

We were proud to serve as the Premier Sponsor of today’s Love Impact Coalition Free Health Clinic — a one‑day, community‑centered event providing FREE dental, vision, and medical services to more than 500 Louisianans.

These clinics have no prerequisites and operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis. The mission is simple: meet people where they are, remove barriers to care, and connect visitors with the community services that can support them long after today.

Our ExxonMobil volunteers played a key role in patient navigation, registration, and interpreter services, helping ensure every visitor felt welcomed, supported, and understood. It’s one of the most rewarding days of the year for our team.

Taylor is a Process Control Applications Engineer for the OXO business team. His role contributes to delivering safe and reliable operations.

This year, Taylor has led the ACE Develop & Grow Committee, where he helps create programming that supports professional development and networking.

Being an ACE member has allowed him to connect with individuals and groups interested in cultural learning, exploring how those perspectives translate into professional growth.

Taylor shared why this month holds special meaning for him: “As our workplace and world become increasingly interconnected, learning about diverse AAPI cultures helps bring people together and navigate the global nature of our work.”

💭 His advice to the next generation of STEM leaders?
Focus on building skills and capabilities rather than targeting specific roles. Technology evolves quickly, and adaptability comes from developing interests and expertise that can grow with change.

⚖️ What Taylor enjoys most about his job is the work-life balance. Employees are driven to deliver impactful results while also making time for fun events (like ACE!). It’s a culture where professionalism and connection go hand in hand.

🕺 Outside of work, Taylor enjoys swing dancing and is currently learning to play the accordion.

BRPN was honored with the Distinguished Safety Award (DSA) —a powerful testament to a deeply embedded culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence while the Complex achieved the prestigious AFPM Elite Gold Safety Award, placing it among the top five percent of AFPM member sites nationwide for exceptional, sustained performance across occupational and process safety.

👋 Meet Ashok!
Ashok is currently the Reliability Lead for the Infrastructure business team. His passion for people, reliability, and collaboration shines through both his day-to-day work and his commitment to employee engagement.

Ashok also serves as the Communications Lead for Baton Rouge ACE and has been an active member of ACE for six years, contributing at both the local and global level.

Through ACE, Ashok has built strong networks across the company and continued to grow his leadership skills while fostering a strong sense of community.
