This week’s features Bobby Hamilton, Masonry Foreman!

A third-generation mason, Bobby grew up around the trade and continues to be motivated by learning something new and becoming better at his craft.

For him, a great jobsite comes down to communication, working safely and efficiently, and being able to have some fun with the people around you.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find Bobby hunting, fishing, or hiking, and if construction hadn’t been his path, he says he might have become a park ranger.

Did you know this 93-year-old filling station is one of the oldest in the country, and EDA helped give it a new home?

In 2023, our Historical Restoration team removed the existing roofing components before the entire structure was relocated. Once the move was complete, our crews returned to install a new terracotta roof, copper gutters, through-wall flashing, downspouts, and a new flat roof at the rear.

Nearly a century after it was built, this historic filling station was ready for its next chapter, with a newly restored roof helping preserve its character for years to come.

This week’s is all about craftsmanship at Saint Joseph’s University’s Barbelin Hall.

EDA’s Steep Slope Roofing team is currently installing a graduated slate roof featuring multiple sizes and colors of slate. The roof is then finished and detailed with copper flashing.

From the slate layout to the copper details, this project showcases the skill and precision that go into steep slope roofing. Take a look at the work in progress!

National Wellness Month may be coming to an end, but looking out for one another doesn't end with August.

Safety goes beyond preventing physical injuries. It also means creating an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up and reaching out when they need help.

PACT, or Personal Accountability Changes Today, helps EDA employees facing mental health or substance-use challenges find support, and resources.

Our latest blog takes a closer look at why wellness is part of safety and how all of us can play a role in looking out for the people around us.

National Wellness Month is a reminder that supporting our people is an essential part of building a safer workplace.

As another school year begins, we're looking back at some of the schools, colleges, and universities EDA has worked on throughout Philadelphia, New York City, and New Jersey.

Our teams have completed a wide range of building envelope scopes across educational campuses, including roofing, waterproofing, masonry, wall panels, glazing, and historical restoration.

We're proud to look back at the work our teams have completed and the educational institutions that have been part of EDA's history.

When the Ironworkers Local 11 building in Perth Amboy, NJ needed a more lasting roofing solution, EDA roofers stepped in to help!

Our team installed a Polyglass PolyBrite 90 liquid-applied silicone roof coating system, and the project is now substantially complete. Once the remaining trades finish their work, our roofers will return to complete the roof perimeter with new fascia, gutters, and downspouts.

Great work by our roofing team on another quality project! 👏

Who will build what's next?

This International Youth Day, we're highlighting an opportunity and a challenge facing construction: building the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

While workforce demand has shifted across the industry, the need for skilled workers remains significant. Associated Builders and Contractors estimates that construction will need to attract 349,000 net new workers in 2026 alone to meet demand, with retirements driving much of that need.

That's why introducing young people to careers in the skilled trades matters.
Across roofing, carpentry, glazing, masonry, and waterproofing, there are opportunities to learn a craft, develop valuable skills, and build a career that can grow from apprentice to leader.

As experienced tradespeople pass decades of knowledge to those coming up behind them, our industry has an opportunity to show the next generation what's possible.
