A/C TIPS FOR THE POWER OUTAGE: With this current power outage all of our AC units are obviously not running. Eventually the power will come back on, but in the meantime your home is going to get pretty warm. With the heat we are experiencing don't expect your temperature to come down very quickly. If it takes several hours or even overnight tonight to get the temperature back down that is OK! When the AC runs for a long time and doesn't bring the temperature down it can be our first instinct to think there's something wrong, but with 100° temperatures the AC is actually designed to run all the time just to maintain the current inside temperature. I hope this information helps.

🔥The heat is here!🔥
Just a couple reminders for the hot weather and your AC:

Most AC systems in our area are sized to your house with a balance point of 100°. That means if your thermostat is set at 75° (for example) when it is 100° outside the AC unit will not shut off. THAT'S OK! When you have that high of a heat load on your house you want that thing to run and keep the house from getting hotter. What I'm getting at here is when it's 100° outside your AC unit will probably not cool your house, it will just maintain the temperature. Nothing to be alarmed about.

Another thing, if your unit seems to be running nonstop and the temperature is getting several degrees hotter inside your home go outside and see if your unit is actually running. If it's not, TURN IT OFF. The unit could have stopped due to something like a tripped breaker or a failed capacitor, and keeping the unit on could cause more damage. If this happens the indoor unit will keep blowing air through your ductwork but it will not be getting cold. If your ductwork is in your attic (which could easily be 130°-140°) that hot air will just heat your home rapidly, therefore it is just best to turn it off until you can have a professional come and fix it.

Some technicians will say they can't fix leaks like this, why you may ask. Well probably because THEY can't. However I see a damaged coil like this one and a large replacement cost and think to myself "it can't be much worse than that" so why not try and fix it?
And we did! It's back up and running like it never even happened!
