Our first Heat wave of the Summer is upon us this week. Here are a few tips and tricks to keep cool and avoid any equipment malfunctions.
Air Conditioners in high heat are going to be working hard to stay cool, reduce the stress by keeping your thermostat at a constant temperature 75-78. Setting to low can result in your system freezing over and no longer cooling. Once its frozen no repairs can be done until it has defrosted.
Other things you can do to ensure your HVAC system will perform at it best during high temps are:
- Make sure your outside condenser is clear or any debri.
- Check your filters so it has proper air flow.
- Close off dampers to any rooms that aren't being used so cool air goes to rooms needed.
