Binghamton University chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society Community Service: A big part of BMES is giving back to the community.

WHO WE ARE
Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is a club at Binghamton University that seeks to stimulate networking skills between students, faculty, and the community. We strive to promote professional development and provide our members the confidence to be successful at and beyond Binghamton. WHAT WE DO
BMES is split up into 3 components:

Professional Development: BBE offers a number of Professional Development events for our members, including: Mock Interviews, Workshops, Lecture Series, and more. Every year, we host a number of Community Service Events. Past events include: ICK! (I'm a COmplex Kid), High School Math & Science Fair, SHARE Mentor Program, Engineers Week, and JC Science Night Out. Social Activities: BMES holds at least 1 social event per semester. Past events include: Paintball, Ice Skating, Apple Picking, and Observatory Visits.

Huge congratulations to our 10 members who attended the National BMES Conference in Orlando this past week! 🎉 We had an incredible time attending informative lectures, presenting research posters, and networking with professionals in the biomedical engineering field.

A special shoutout to our 6 presenters representing Binghamton University: Lauren Carnevale, Ehinomen Ejianreh, Logan Kunkel, Lena Lin, Christie Chen, and Noah Roger! We’re so proud of all their hard work and dedication in preparing for this conference and sharing their research.

Please join BMES for an end of the year bonfire hangout! We will be at the Mountainview fire pit on May 6th at 7pm hanging out and giving out any last minute merch and graduation cords. We hope to see you all there for a relaxing, fun hangout!!

BMES will be hosting a coffee chat on April 29th at 7 PM in CW 112 with Dr. Jared Bagley!! We’ll be learning all about his career path and research with genetic drivers of addiction. Please bring your friends and we hope to see you there!

Are you interested in pursuing a master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering?

We will be collaborating with the MS ISE department on April 24th at 3pm to gain insight from the graduate director, Sarah Lam! There will also be some BME graduate students who are also pursuing their master’s in ISE. If you can’t come in person, scan the QR code for the zoom link, otherwise please join us in CW 110 for this event! Snacks will be provided!
