Congratulations to Santiago Corales on being named McWane Ductile – New Jersey's March Safety Champion.

Recently, Santiago proposed a simple yet impactful safety enhancement: installing a notification light on the North Hotline for the bell grinder. Currently, when he transfers pipe using the linear conveyor, there is no visual indicator to alert the North line operators to see that a pipe is approaching. This lack of visual cue can lead to operators being caught off guard if they are focused on other tasks, potentially increasing the risk of accidents.

Implementing a notification light tied to the transfer process would provide a clear visual alert, improving awareness and safety for all personnel involved. This straightforward safety and operational improvement could significantly reduce the risk of surprises and enhance communication on the line.
